Convenient location after a day around the Golden Circle before setting off on the rest of the Ring Road. Too late to book breakfast on arrival (shame as homemade breads and jams sound lovely), but big supermarket not far away. Review for bigger room than we had booked (studio) due to misunderstanding on arrival of other guests - simple, spacious living area and good kitchen, bed and bedding very warm and comfortable, and a kind host.

The general photos from the main page on booking can be misleading as they give an overall picture of all apartments. The lower apartment is much smaller than the others and does not have the beautiful views from the apartments that are above. Be sure to take a good look at the photos per accommodation option so that you know what you are getting. If I had done that, I would have booked one of the larger apartments situated on the first floor (my own mistake, but i was too late to change it)

We stayed in the smallest apartment under the house. This is not very big, but good for a stay of one or two days. Friendly hostess. The apartment was a bit noisy due to the footsteps from the apartments above (wooden floor), but actually we were not bothered by it (will depend on the other guests though). Good base to explore the area around Vik.

It was a clean and beautiful guesthouse on a quiet place. It makes this wonderful to stay here. You also can use the hottub.

The road in front was a bit busier than we expected, due to several campsites further up.

Secondary room in basement apartment had 2 sets of bunk beds that were not very comfortable. No insulation between the upstairs and downstairs apartment making it rather noisy for even routine sounds. Medium size dog runs loose on the property, barks incessantly, and ran circles around the car while we were trying to back out causing us to fear that we would hit him. We are dog lovers, but this dog did not warm up to us at all. No oven in the kitchen, but there was a microwave. It would have been nice to have coffee, sugar, creamer available. There was a coffee pot and a few filters but no other supplies. The kitchen was otherwise fairly well equipped. The bathroom shower had to be “activated” by pushing a button every 30 seconds or so to keep the water flowing. We support water conservation, but that was ridiculous! The property description should indicate that they are located 7 km off of route 1 from town. GPS was unable to locate the property.

The ceiling was at about 2 m height which might be a problem for tall people. The floor was very cold. We had no curtains on the living room/ kitchen so everyone on the courtyard, entering the house above or the hot pot could look into our apartment. The view was ok, but not as gorgeous as on the pictures online.

The apartment was very spacious and included a washing machine. The owner and family were very nice, open and chatty. The hot pot was lovely and it was very quiet at night.

The bathroom was a bit too tiny, and didn’t offer enough towels. Overall the place could be a bit cleaner, the apartment felt like it was closed for a long time (the air felt stuffy).

The apartment was spacious and well furnished. The owner was SUPER helpful and always available to help out. The location was convenient for the golden circle sightseeing and close to supermarket and restaurants.

One of the most disappointing places we stayed during travelling in Iceland for 9 times. If you stay in the studio, you will hear everything happening above you. You will wake up the time people start to walk there. The owner offered to talk to people staying there but that is not acceptable. It’s not their fault that there is no sound isolation. The shower was only from the top and swimming pool like - the same temperature and had to push the knob every 15 or so seconds. You can use the hot tub till 9 pm. A bit weird knowing that people have long days in Iceland. We were not told this and got remarks at 21:30 although we were not loud or anything. The dog is barking at every car and each time we had to drive, we were scared not to run over her. There was no tea pot the first days and it appeared only 3 days later but nobody told us. The bed is extremely small, you have 25 cm between the wall and the bed, so not comfortable to get in and out. The kitchen towels were all with holes. Everything is quite old and outdated.

The location is great and the surroundings are well kept.

Very nice apartment in a beautiful setting with marvellous views. Becky is the best host!!!! Outside whirlpool. The house is absolutely clean and well equipped with everything you need. We have been there before and will surely come back.

The only thing that I might complain about is lavk of sound proofing between this room we stayed in and the room upstairs. If thats something you can grt over with, then go ahead and book this place!

The location and the house were amazing. There were windows on all sides of the living room and the panorama was gorgeous. While we were having breakfast we were looking at Eyjafjallajökull, Thorsmork, Seljalandsfoss, and Vestmannaeyjar Islands in the distance. The house was very clean, and the beds very comfortable. Everything you need for a great vacation was there. There is also a Kronan nearby, two gas stations, a great restaurant (Eldsto art cafe) which also has coffee, and a car mechanic, should you need it. One of our car tires bust one of the days, and we got it fixed at Vélsmiðjan Magni before breakfast the next day. The people were very helpful, and had us back on the road in no time.

I felt the images made the property seem larger than it was, since the images featured all rooms/suites not just ours. So I thought we would have a larger space. Also the bathroom was not great, the shower shut off quickly and it wasn't very new or clean, not my most preferred bathroom experience and I don't recall seeing an image of the bathroom which might have influenced our booking, but it does the trick and is a more affordable option. Unfortunately the owners dog was not friendly, and barked/chased us as we attempted to get into our car and was quite aggressive. If you are not a fan of dogs I would not recommend you stay here as the dog even bit me (no broken skin/pain) but it was quite off putting and made my experience much less enjoyable.

The guesthouse was a great place for us to stay during our time in Southern Iceland. The bed and bedding/pillows were very comfortable. We booked with studio apartment which had bunk beds that we didn't need so I can't speak to the comfort of those. The location was great for accessing activities and sights in between Hella and Vik which is where we spent our time while staying here. The kitchen setup worked well for our needs and had all appliances we needed. There was no coffee or tea provided though which is usually expected at any stay. The host was kind and helped us check-in late and answer our questions.

The hot tub is shared with all 3 rental spaces We were on the bottom unit and at night you can clearly hear the other tenants walking around and even talking throughout the night

the location to the falls is perfect. There are also several restaurants near by and a grocery store
