눉We were pretty disappointed in this hotel. We paid extra for a 'superior' room, and when we arrived it looked EXACTLY the same as the standard room advertised on booking.com. We went down to mention and they assured me it was a 'deluxe'. I had requested a double and this room had two singles pushed together and, again, was EXACTLY THE SAME as the standard one advertised. On principle, I was a bit annoyed as why pay the extra money? They offered us one of the new renovated rooms, but the bed was a large single. Then eventually offered us the Junior Suite. While we took up on this offer, I am not sure we should have. Other than it being a bit unusual and on two floors, this suite is very dated and I would pity anybody who pays extra for it. Bed was rubbish, shower too. Loads of space, but useless space and I couldn't find a hairdryer/iron etc. We stayed in Skuggi (fab!) a few days before which had small rooms but everything needed was there with a good bed and shower (amazing shower) as well. This Best Western is clearly going through some updating, and it needs it badly. There are plenty of places to stay in the city so I would recommend elsewhere. Pretty shocking they can charge what they do, but it's Reykjavik. There are just plenty of better places on offer. We picked this because of the car parking, and it was fine. Staff were friendly so not complaining about that, but overall, expect a dated budget hotel for not so budget a price.
