Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We havent met anyone during the checkin process, but this is quite common in Iceland. Renovation was still ongoing, some traces of construction were still there.
It was quite clean everywhere. A huge kitchen to share with other travellers. Everything quite new, it felt the soul of the place will change very soon (in a good way)

Nothing really. The location and the room met my expectations.
Everything was in order. I didn't have to contact the owner for anything. Everything went smoothly with the code and so on. Kitchen and room were clean and the guests are always friendly. Plus the location was perfect.

The room was soo cold, and we couldnt make it warm. There was a construction during our stay.

There was only one bathroom for our floor, which really wasn’t enough.
The communal kitchen was great, easy self check in and for Iceland a cheap rate. The room was clean enough.

The key card for my friend’s room did not work and he said the room was cold. Would have liked more face to face contact with staff, but of course understand new procedures after Covid. Would have liked a more substantial pillow.
Was amused by the alligator(?) dragon(?) head sculpture around the shower.

We were given a free upgrade to a bigger room which was nice. Kitchen was small but had everything you needed, location was good. Bathroom was really clean and modern.

The bathroom was a narrow.
At our second stay at the guesthouse, they gave us a bigger room and we were very comfortable! The secind day that we stayed there, we noticed that the bathrom was more clean.

Nope.
We spent a night at Egilsstaðir and we have booked this guest house for our stopover. The staff who checked us in took about less than 3mins, she’s friendly. We got a clean 5 pax room although your booking is just for 2pax. Location is pretty good, close to bonus supermarket and petrol station. Bathroom is clean and enough for the number of guest. We drove 10mins to the north from this guest house and saw the first Northern Light in our life.

While the walls were soundproof for most instances, I had a boys basketball team staying in the room next to mine. They were very loud and there was no one on staff to tell them to adhere to quiet hours.
The set-up was great - conveniently located washrooms and showers, with a good kitchen and social/dining area. Bed and pillow were nicer than other places I’ve stayed on this trip. The walls were fairly soundproof, which was important. Plenty of parking in front of the building. Super close to a Netto grocery store!
