Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. It was all great.
We loved everything about Hotel Rangá. The staff were all lovely and super helpful. The room was really comfortable with a lovely jacuzzi bath in the en-suite. We were lucky to have a north facing room so got a really good view of the Northern Lights. There is an aurora wake up service but we were already up mesmerised by the show outside. The observatory was open on the night we stayed too which was really interesting. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening but breakfast the next day was one of the best we’ve had in Iceland. So much choice with hot and cold options. We will definitely return in the future.

United States of AmericaEverything was great, would recommend to everyone. My wife and I only wished we could have spent more time at the resort. We did a lot of traveling and made this our home base for 4 days
We loved everything about this place. We were able to upgrade to a suite after we arrived and I would recommend that to everyone. The dinners were great and the lounge area and the bar were perfect. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Not to mention that they have a call service you can sign up for that rings your room if the Northern Lights come out...... Just fantastic

United States of AmericaPerfect location, had a lovely observatory on the property for clear nights in which an astrologer was present. The hotel was very nice and had a rustic, cozy and homey feel to it. Appreciated they could accommodate gluten free.

IrelandWe loved our two night stay at Hotel Ranga, a unique, beautiful hotel in a spectacular location convenient to the Golden Circle and south coast. We loved every aspect of our stay, particularly the beautiful places to sit and relax through the hotel, the beautiful artwork, Aurora wake up calls and the observatory (although unfortunately the weather was not clear during our stay). The breakfast, dinner and delicious cocktails were a highlight as were the helpful and friendly staff. Thank you to all at Hotel Ranga for making our stay truly memorable.

United Arab EmiratesCozy cabin feel hotel, but rooms are very spacious and service excellent across the board. We had very welcoming service, and excellent restaurant experience as well both nights. Most uniquely, its an isolated and peaceful location, with star/sky observatory hut 3 min walk from hotel. They gave a wonderful skygazing session explaining the incredible skyscape you see given you are in low-light pollution area, and most importantly we saw the Northern Lights for over an hour in middle of this session!

United Arab EmiratesGreat and spacious rooms (we had tried the Japanese inspired junior suite and then 1 night in the large suite), both offered great space (latter with a jacuzzi in the room). Overall excellent service across full experience, great restaurant and beautiful peaceful landscape. Additionally, star gazing observatory is very nice and guide explains the beautiful skyscape. We got super lucky and caught the Northern Lights for over an hour during the star gazing tour!

United KingdomThe hotel and rooms are beautiful and really cosy. Great food, great drinks and lovely staff. We got to see the Northern lights as they woke us up in the early hours to see them. We had hired a car and got to see loads of great sights within a couple of hours drive. We would definitely come back and stay here again if we come back to Iceland!

United KingdomThe bedroom wasn't quite our style - old fashioned ski chalet style and quite small, but we knew this when we booked and it certainly wouldn't put us off booking again.
We chose Hotel Rangá for our short break over Christmas, partly in the hope that we would see the Northern Lights. We didn't (!) but we still loved our stay. The staff were excellent - very friendly, helpful and knowledgable (provided very good advice about which roads were passable etc). The food was excellent with a good choice of dishes. The location was ideal with lots of the key sites within relatively easy reach. Another hi-light for us were the hot tubs which we sat in to watch the very slow sunsets over the beautiful river view.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was included and it was varied and delicious. I thought the mark up on the wine was really high but then when it comes to imports, I understand everything is so expensive.
The food was delicious especially dinner- on the pricier side. But I suppose worth it.
