Via San Michele 9, 80079 Procida, Italy

눉The Casa Terramurata is located at the highest point of Procida; some people may not like the hike back up to the B&B at the end of a long day or evening, but we never minded -- it makes for a nice walk and the views from the path can't be beat.
눇My fiancee and I stayed in the Lookout Room, which features gigantic sliding glass doors that open onto an awesome private balcony with a view of the sea. The room was full of natural light; we did have one rare Southern Italian day of thunderstorming, but the view of the storm rolling around though those beautiful windows from the comfort of the large bed was an awesome experience. The room had a nice bathroom and a rapidly-working air conditioner, as well. Breakfast each morning was a nice spread of well-chosen classic southern pastries like cornetti and bomboloni, and then lots of fresh fruits and juices and meats and cheeses, as well as coffee. The staff was wonderful, from picking us up and dropping us back off at the port to greeting us with big smiles every day to even sending a bottle of Prosecco to our room on our last evening. Warm, friendly, and helpful with everything from the ferry schedule to beach recommendations -- Salvatore made the great suggestion that we go across the island to try a beach/restaurant called Vivara, and it was easily some of the best dining we did all summer. Because the island is so small, even spots that appear to be far away are still totally walkable, and the bus system is very easy to navigate. We found the overall location of this lovely B&B to be quite ideal -- you may want to head across the island for beaches, as this is not the side where the sun sets, but its proximity to the fisherman's village provides a built-in and easy spot to try lots of different amazing restaurants for lunch or dinner. There is such a high concentration of good places to eat such a short walk from the Casa Terramurata, and that was definitely a selling point. If we return to Procida (which is likely, as I work in Italy for a few months out of the year), we would come back here in a heartbeat.

눇By far the finest hospitality we have experienced to date on any booking through this site. The owner kindly arranged to pick us up and all our luggage from the port and took us to the B&B. The B&B has been sympathetically restored and modernised (the building is circa 1000 years old!). We booked the family room for two nights and it was very comfortable. On arrival we sampled the local Lemoncello. The owner also has a restaurant on the island which is worth a visit. Once again we were not disappointed and the food was excellent, if a little expensive - some of the finest we had on our 10 day trip in Italy. I would recommend, particularly if you enjoy seafood. The view is amazing - see picture. The breakfast in the B&B was super and there was flexibility in terms of timing. Fresh fruit on hand and a well stocked fridge (available throughout the day for juice and fruit). I would easily recommend Prochida as a location to visit, and if you do go, the hospitality , kindness and help from Savior is second to none. Highly recommend.
