Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

5 STARS ***** Margherita is the kindest person I've ever met! She's a excellent hostess! She picked me up from the train station and on check-out, she walked to the cafe while carrying my suitcase. The apartment is beautiful! Overlooks the Port of Salerno. Im a frequent traveler and I've never seen a accommodation fully stocked with food, snacks, drinks and coffee bar. Bathroom had plenty of towels and hair products. Kitchen fully equipped with cooking utensils. Bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend Margherita's apartment.

United StatesThat we didn't stay longer
Ms. Margherita's place was perfect for my family of four. We thank her so much for her great hospitality and the yummy pastries she dropped off. The location was very convenient and right in front of the Port. There is a bus stop outisde the apartment to the other ferry that travelmar uses. If staying longer and will be using the bus you can buy the busitalia tickets at the train station on arrival. I used google maps to track where to get off. You can take a round trip €20 from there to Amalfi. they also go to positano and the other ferry by the apartment goes to Capri. very convenient for day trips. The apartment itself will have everything and things you didn't even think of like umbrellas, binoculars... The fridge was filled with everything we needed like water, milk, egg, juice, butter, cheese, bacon, ham... She doesn't advertise pickup from train station but when convenient she will probably offer to pick you up. It was also very easy to walk to many restaurants.

JapanThe host was so wonderful. She picked us up at the station by car and explained the facilities of the house very carefully. They brought us the food and drink we needed each morning, but never interfered with our stay. They keep in touch with me on WhatsApp and let me know if I have any problems. It has an ocean view, a washing machine, a kitchen, a refrigerator, WiFi, a coffee maker, and an air conditioner. To my surprise there was a microwave and a TV.

Margherita and Alessia were great hosts. They couldn't have looked after us better. Margerhita collected us from the station when we arrived and took us back when we left. There was so much food provided to last us for more than our 5 day stay. Margerhita wanted to bring fresh breakfast every day, which we turned down as we really didn't need it. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. It is close to the main ferry port, less than a 10 minute walk, which was grear for catching early ferries to the Amalfi towns. It is also only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Salerno where we found some very good restaurants. We ate at the restaurant below the apartment, which was also very good. The apartment was the perfect size for the two of us and we couldn't have wanted a better base for visiting the Amalfi coast.

United StatesJust pretty amazing! The kitchen was a little small, but worked well for the two of us. And fridge and kitchen were always so well stocked by Margherita!!!
The breakfast was amazing! Pastries, sweet and/or savory, and plenty! Margherita was an absolute perfect host - helpful, kind, generous, she felt like family! Location was excellent - short walk to old town, 30 minute walk to Vietri Sul Mare. The city walk and beach were only 5 minutes away, too many restaurants to even try, Antonio's shop a minute away had fresh Buffalo Mozzarella every day and very kind. We can not imagine staying anywhere else in Salerno, or the Amalfi for that matter - it was not overwhelmed with tourists, but close enough to see all the towns on the coast.

The apartment was exceptional. Very modern within a traditional locale. High quality amenities that would be found in a luxery hotel. The location was within walking distance of Gardin de Minerva, ferries for day trips to Amalfi or Positano, grocery and pharmacy, and a multitude of amazing restaurants. We enjoyed a wonderful restaurant just one floor below the apartment and another across the street. Our host was wonderful. Brought us breakfast every morning, gave great advice as to where to go and what to see and even drove us to the train station when we departed. We hope to return in the future and highly recommend this to others who plan to stay in Salerno.

RomaniaA few things in the apartment could do with some fixing, but it's really nothing that diminishes the overall experience.
The apartment was not only generally well equipped, but also specifically prepared for our stay with a filled fridge, beach towels etc, so we basically did not have to take care of anything! Our stay was perfected by our incredibly friendly host who not only gave us info about Salerno but even gave us a ride to the ferries!

United StatesIt's a significant distance from the main train station, probably a 30 min walk, and 20 minutes to the old city center. Make sure you account for this in your planning!
Margherita is so nice and friendly! She dropped off a huge amount of fruit, baked goods, yogurt, etc each morning - more than we could possibly eat. And she picked us up from the train station plus drive us a few other places, which was amazing, as the B&B is a bit of a walk from the main part of town. But, that made it nice and quiet. Big rooms, well stocked with supplies, snacks, coffee, etc. Small shower (typically European) and kitchen. A/C in each room.

Everything about our stay was amazing! We were offered lifts to and from the train station, fresh pastries were brought to us regularly as well as keeping the fridge well stocked throughout our stay. The location as well is a great base for visiting local amenities, the train station and port were all within a 30 minute walk from the apartment as well. Myself and my partner couldn't recommend this place enough. I don't think we've could of had a more friendly host, Margherita went above and beyond during our stay.
