Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaThe shower was not separated from the room, and the lighting inside was not that great.
Very good location, right in the old town. The room was a little smaller than expected, but very clean and functional. Very good usage of the available space. There was also breakfast included in the price, at a nearby cafe. There's also really good gelato at the cafe.

United States of AmericaThe host is incredibly welcoming and is dedicated to making sure you have an authentic Puglia welcome. The room was incredibly cute and the building has been in the family for generations. It is located right in the center of the medieval city. This should be your pick!

United States of AmericaWe spent three nights at this very romantic bed and breakfast. The location is perfect for exploring the historic parts of Monopoli. Monopoli was our favorite town of the four towns we visited in Apulia. Alessandra was the perfect hostess.

PolandBreakfast, (this is why I gave 9 not 10). The idea of B&B accross the word is that full breakfast is included. When I do appreaciate that we were offered 1 coffe and 1 crusant or panini (in coffe bar). This is not meeting my expectations of B&B service and in simple words it is not enough considering price for night.
Great location, beautifull apartment and very helpfull host who gave us a lot of tips. The place itself was in a very stylish and old tenement which was absolutelty amazing. We really enjoyed beeing in such historic building maintened with keeping old fasion style. Bathroom could be bigger, but on the other side we were in historic building, thus justified. ;)

SwedenEverything was just great; location, beds, the apartment, the efficient and quiet air conditioning. Especially appreciated to meet our kind and considerate host who could not have been more forthcoming, considerate and kind. Mille gracie Alessandra!! The pretty red decorations outside made the BB Borgo Martino easy to find in the winding alleys.

SpainBed was not the most comfortable one we have ever slept in. Not too horrible, though.
A good accommodation in the historic centre of Monopoli, close to restaurants and night life and sightseeing in town. The owner was very nice and explained everything we could see and gave us some tips. We did not spend a long time in town, just one night, as our flight was departing the following day and we spent longer than expected in bella Lecce on our way there. The building is old and nice.

IrelandI didn't like that I spent too much time in other parts of puglia. As a place to visit Monopoli was my highlight.
Warm, gracious and friendly staff, the room was spotless and comfortable, everything functioned perfectly, I really appreciated the Italian language help, the location was perfect, the restaurant reccomendation I got was fabulous and affordable... the list goes on, definitely the last stop on my tour of puglia was the best.

GermanyI must confess, my experience at B&B Borgo San Martino was so enchanting that I find myself struggling to come up with anything negative to say. It's a perfect little haven in Monopoli, leaving no room for complaints.
I had the pleasure of staying at B&B Borgo San Martino, and I must say it was an enchanting experience. From the moment I arrived, Alessandra, the hostess, welcomed me with open arms and a warm smile. Her kindness and genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable. Alessandra was always ready to assist me, offering valuable tips and suggestions for activities. Thanks to her recommendation, I had the privilege of attending an outstanding string concert in a charming little church nearby. The location of the accommodation is simply idyllic, nestled in a narrow alley in the heart of Monopoli's old town. Being centrally located allowed me to explore all the attractions and beaches on foot with great ease. The surroundings exuded a unique charm, capturing the essence of the town's history and culture. The building itself is a testament to meticulous restoration, showcasing its original beauty and character. Every corner oozes charm, and you can feel the love and care that went into preserving its historical significance. My room was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, providing a cozy sanctuary after a day of exploration. I highly recommend B&B Borgo San Martino to anyone seeking a delightful retreat in Monopoli. Alessandra's warm hospitality, coupled with the accommodation's picturesque charm, creates a perfect harmony for a memorable stay. Whether you're a traveler seeking relaxation, adventure, or both, this charming B&B is the ideal choice. My experience was nothing short of magical, and I am grateful for the warmth and generosity of Alessandra, making my stay truly exceptional.

Czech RepublicHowever the bathroom was small, there could be more storage space. And the wi-fi was not very strong and working mostly only on the steps to bathroom ;-) But overall it was very nice.
The room was very spacious, furbished in old, traditional furniture. The air-con worked very well and fortunatelly the house holds cold, so it was great in the extreme hot weather. There was daily cleaning. The hostess was very nice, gave us great advice where to go, what to eat - best panzerotti in town ;-) The location is just on the beginning of historical center (well, you have to fing your way in and out ;-)), but very calm in the night. We enjoyed it.

AustraliaNothing at all!
This B&B was so special to me. Alessandra was the most kind, welcoming, and helpful host possible. The accommodation was in the most beautiful 1700’s building, yet well cared for and equipped with all facilities such as A/C. Thank you Alexandra :)

Firstly, we appreciated our welcome check in. The host, Alessandra, was very friendly and made time for a chat. Also provided comprehensive information and advice - we found this really useful. We liked the quiet location of the house although it was only a short walk to the waterfront, bars and restaurants. The property was meticulously clean and our bed was comfortable, we slept soundly. A perfect place to enjoy Monopoli and explore Puglia. Would love to return for longer!

United KingdomI bumped my head on the lintel walking in my room and if you have a lot of heavy luggage you will weep carrying them up the stairs, but instead just leave the extras at home. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems, sadly. :-(
Borgo San Martino was the kind of cultural and physical experience I have long dreamed of when I am holidaying in Italy. Not just "good location" or "nice space," it was like walking back in time to when knights on horses were walking the cobblestoned streets below me. The room itself combined "mod cons" (AC, shower and bathroom in the room) with utter charm and beauty that reflected the historic environment we were a part of. This has honestly become one of the favorite places I've ever stayed. Monopoli itself isn't one of the better known towns on this coast but I would consider coming back just to stay here, eat lovely food, and have a swim or two on the town beach. IDEAL!
