Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SloveniaAndrea and his wife are very friendly hosts, always willing to help. The location is good, close to the sea, were still able to swim in the sea at the end of Oktober. It is a good starting point to visit Etna and nearby cities. We were satisfied with everything.

United KingdomBe careful with mosquitoes. We went to the local beach during sunset and they ate us alive! (rookie mistake)
Geographical location is perfect if you want to visit popular places around (Taormina, Siracusa, Catania) and close to the airport. Andrea is the best host I've come across, picking us up from airport and the day after giving us a lift to the rent a car. Always available and helpful. House is clean and it has got everything you need.

LatviaWe realized that garbage collection is a problem in Sicily. Cassa Azzura itself is very clean and nice, however, the same cannot be said for the area around the village. Since we mostly traveled with a rented car, these scenes could not spoil our excellent impression of Sicily.
Very kind hosts - Maria and Andrea. Everything was shown and explained. We were greeted with a surprise - drinks and sweets. Of course, each of us got a huge canolli. It was very delicious. Cassa Azzura is very comfortable for living - a kitchen with everything you need, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower, sink, washing machine. The air conditioner was very essential in the hot weather. 32 degrees is not our everyday life. Every morning we prepared delicious coffee from the capsules given to us. There would be enough capsules for another week! Andrea had prepared a great collection of wines. We tasted it with pleasure. Fine Sicilian wines for any meal. A 10-minute walk to the sea at a slow pace. The hosts had even prepared sun umbrellas and beach towels for us. We enjoyed using them. We had rented a car and therefore also received a remote control for the gate, as the village area is fenced off. Very convenient and practical. While saying goodbye, we were greeted by another surprise - delicious, freshly baked Sicilian muffins for breakfast. Andrea also kindly took us to the airport.

Moldovaa good option for a family vacation. The house has a nice garden with a terrace with a small playground for kids. The beach is nearby free of charge and not busy at all. The host couple were super nice and friendly. We have arrived earlier, but we where allowed to check in offering us welcome drinks and famous Sicilian desert cannoli . The property is located further away from the city. You can get easily by bus - 1€ ; having the bus station approx 15 minutes walking distance to/from the property. But the host Andrea was very kind to drop us off at the central station free of charge! unfortunately there are no supermarkets nearby, but Andrea was very kind to give us a lift into town for groceries. At the beach you have just one small terrace/ shop having pizzas. No other restaurants are nearby.

PolandNeighbors cat coming to the property. When he is not fed and pampered, he can attack. The broom helps. Access to Catania only by bus or rental car.
Very peaceful, beautiful place. The area of the reserve, which is monitored and surrounded by a wall. Very close to the sandy beach, local pizzeria. For people who value relaxation. Mr. Andrea and his family are wonderful people. He will personally explain everything, take you to the store right after arrival, and any possible shortages (e.g. coffee) are quickly replenished. In case of problems, he responds to all needs. Thanks for everything! :)

GermanyA cozy house near the beach, which is much cleaner than the city beach of Catania. You can park your car in a gated private parking. The center of Catania is about 30 minutes away by car. The owner and his wife are very friendly, always ready to help with advice. The apartment has everything you need for relaxation, cooking. Lovely veranda for dining. You can be entertained by a cute cat that was coming to us and asked for food. We had to buy food for the cat, because she was stray and hungry.

Czech RepublicWe were surprised by the amount of trash in Catania and around the roads. But the rental home area and surroundings are neat and tidy.
The house was clean and the staff were amazing. Andrea, the home owner, went above and beyond. He gave us tips for restaurants nearby and checked on us over whatsapp if we needed anything the next day. The beach is close and the water is super clear. There was wine for purchase in the house which we greatly appreciated since we landed at Catania late at night. And we loved the reading material about the region and its gastronomy.

AustriaTile floors cold in spring, would be nice to have some guest slippers, no cereal/soup bowls (we ate our morning cereal from a mug), no grocery store or any other kind of service nearby, but a bit further out you have a big commercial centre, just need to plan that in. WiFi was unstable.
Pretty close to the airport, so convenient especially for late flights. The house is inside a kind of holiday village with direct access to the sea. Beautiful and spacious garden with some playground objects great for kids. The house is well equipped and clean. Comfortable double bed and bunk bed in a separate room. Air conditioning and extra portable heater in the bathroom (we needed it in March). Our host was very welcoming and waited for us even though our flight arrived late in the evening and we took a while to get the rental car too. Check-in and check-out were both flawless for us. We would be happy to come back if we are in Catania again.
