Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Germany- Hard to heat in winter. The heating is too loud to keep on at night, and temperatures fall quickly. - Summers might get very hot, since the room is directly under the roof. - People in the narrow alleyway can be surprinsingly noisy. - Families with children might worry about the low window sill.
Lovely place, lovely host. Huge room, great view. In terms of value for money, excellent!

AustraliaNot much to complain about, though some might find the decor dated and the room a little disorganised. It's not your typical accommodation though so it didn't bother me.
Not your typical accommodation, but an amazingly unique space displaying the works of artist Bruno Cordati. Giordano Martinelli (the artist's grandson) was an accommodating yet non intrusive host. Very large room with extra chairs, sofa & dining table inside. Bed was comfortable (only used one of the three present). Water pressure in the bathroom was good. There were also large common areas to explore. Giordano gave permission to bring friends into the property to see the space & art. For musicians, there were also a few pianos which could be played at reasonable hours.

United KingdomThe floor in the room was a little dirty but apart from that everything was very well presented.
Access to the beautiful gallery space was one of the highlights of our trip. Casa Cordati had spacious rooms and was in a fantastic location. Our host was extremely attentive and provided everything we needed during our stay.

United States of AmericaBecause there is no parking in the old town, we had to park in a lot just outside the walls, a short walk from the hotel. The lot had several dozen public parking spots, but every night, we got either THE LAST or one of the last available spots.
The location was wonderful - a quiet street in the charming old town part of Barga with good restaurants very close by including a lively cafe with good food in a loggia. Giordano was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is exceptionally interesting, in a multi-floor large house, with several rooms full of paintings. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, not fancy but with a great view of the town and mountains. Overall, my wife and I loved out stay.

The hospitality was superb, Gio was a wonderful host and extremely helpful, taking the time to show me the museum and gallery, and showing me where everything was a gentleman to the core. And the views and locality were fabulous.

United States of AmericaClear that you need to park in public lot. The hotel is in the middle of the old city.
The hotel and room were wonderful - it is the artist's former house and is a beautiful old house with several rooms. Ours was huge with a fridge coffee maker and silver ware to make it easy to have snacks and breakfast in the room. The location is perfect for exploring Barga. It was spotless and we loved exploring the galleries filled with the artist Cordati's works.

United KingdomRooms were not that clean. Whilst the bath/toilet/sinks/ovens/beds were clean, less frequently used places were not. Eg shelves, sideboards, windowsills. Floors were particularly dirty (swept clean rather than mopped). After just a couple of steps your feet would be black and covered in dirt. The layout of our apartment meant it was absolutely perfect for a family, but wouldn't be great if you wanted some privacy. You enter into the kitchen and then have to walk through the two bedrooms to get to the bathroom. No door between first bedroom and kitchen, door between two bedrooms didn't close properly.
Fantastic location right in the old town. We had the ground floor apartment which was excellent for prams. Big rooms with lots of space. Everything you need to cook basic meals. Beautiful old building.

United KingdomThe bed was no especially comfortable but I could use the huge sofa
I loved this property. It is quite eccentric and massive. It felt like a castle on top of the mountain and I could have stayed their quite happily for a lot longer. I felt the host was always on hand but no obtrusive, with his grandfathers paintings everywhere and a feel of slightly faded glory. There are huge rooms everywhere and my bedroom was big enough to sail a yacht in. I loved it

IrelandThe church bells are going a lot of the time, early and late but you learn to block them out after a while, nothing to complain about.
Location is great for restaurants, bars, cafes and shops and lots of parking nearby. Our host was very accommodating, especially as we had a very late arrival time. Our room was huge, plenty of spare pillows and blankets, if needed. Coffee maker, fridge, crockery, cork screw, everything you could possibly need. It was like staying in a gallery with all the art pieces so I really enjoyed that. Very friendly people in general. Oh and a good strong hot shower!

We booked an appartement and found out it was part of a beautiful historic palazzo in the center. Very nice, full of history, all spaces full of art and free to use. Appartement with lots of space, everything was in the house. It’s an old building and it feels like that. Not modern luxury but very very nice to stay here.
