Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe loved everything about this property.
Incredible. We loved this property. It's beautiful, in a great location and the staff is exceptional. Great location for exploring Tuscany and easy day trips to Florence. Highly recommend the castle tour and wine tasting with Ms. Jillian, it was a highlight of our stay.

United States of AmericaWhat didn’t I like??? Absolutely nothing !!!
OMG, can you imagine staying in a castle right in the middle of Tuscany?? Incredible. Then want to talk about caring? Not only was our palace (sorry can’t call it just a room) was humongous!! We were graciously upgraded to a 2 bedroom with dining room and kitchen. Did I mention personal calls to make sure our late check in was ok? Back to the room and experience…. Never did we spend 5 days in heaven. Located on top of a mountain with views everywhere. I could go on and on. An incredible memory that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all the staff for making our trip wonderful!!!

ItalyThat we did not stay longer.
Beautiful tranquil location and property. Friendly and accomodating staff. The apartment matched the setting and it was absolutely luxury and very comfortable. You must have a car, however.

United KingdomThe price is a bit too dear for October when it is already off-peak.
You must reach this place by car. It is situated on top of a hill with spectacular view across a valley filled with olive gardens and cypress so it it totally worth it. It has plenty outdoor of seating to enjoy drinks and admire the view. It is also convenient to reach a really really good restaurant La Fattoria. In addition, parking is ample and free.

United KingdomThe Castello itself is the host to events, with the surrounding buildings beautifully restored as apartments. Our two-floor, two bedroom apartment, Le Ginestre, was perfectly appointed, with a large kitchen, dining room and sitting rooms as well as space outside for additional g the stunning views. We were able to light the fire in the lovely period fireplace in the cold evenings. The reception staff were charming and friendly and there are events such as wine-tastings and yoga sessions available when numbers allow.

United States of AmericaOne day there was no hot water. We notified the staff and they corrected it while we were out for the day with no other concerns.
The grounds were great. The rooms were awesome. The kitchen was quaint and nice to spend a little time with the windows open in the morning while drinking a coffee. We had a person with us that couldn't manage a lot of steps, so the ground level entrance and walk in shower were great.

United KingdomInsect bites...but cannot be helped. The shower leaked under the door. The staff were waiting to clean before 10.00am as we left. The two single beds creaked a lot.
History and setting, felt very grand. Lovely pool and our accomodation had fabulous outside space, although I think we were lucky. Great evening wine tasting.

FranceNothing that I did not like
The location is magnificient, in the very heart of Tuscany, with old and grubly olive trees everywhere, lovely scenery, very close to nearby villages but still far enough to be able to enjoy a quiet setting. The accommodation retained its medieval feeling but was furnished perfectly so it felt incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was very generous, we even had an omlette with everything freshly made every morning. I would like to add that we had our engagement photoshoot at Castello di Bibbione and the staff were very nice and helpful : Grazie mille for having accommodated us!

CroatiaOne thing that should be introduced - a coffee/nespresso machine that is available 24/7. This would really improve the feel, if you want to drink an espresso and chill by the pool. I mean, what's Italy without an espresso? The rooms, given the fact that it's an old castle, are a bit noisy, and do ask for anti-mosquito gadgets as soon as you arrive.
We've never been to a place like this. You are literally living in a castle. Our part/apartment was very spacious, on two floors (kind of), with everything you need: very nice bedroom, nice bathroom with cool view, and ridiculously big living+kitchen area. Really very nice, and takes you to another time and atmosphere. You don't sense the tourism, which I find very positive. Apart from the room, the surroundings are astounding. The breakfast area is very nice, especially when the weather is good and you sit outside. The place has a very nice swimming pool and relaxing area, which we briefly enjoyed. You really have to plan your stay so that you spend at least half a day in the castle and the area, to feel it and to recharge. Our host, Sara, was really nice and gives you all the details needed. Do ask her for advice on where to eat. She gave us 3 recommendations, we tried and enjoyed all of them! Did I mention that they have their own wine?
