Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicThere was no standard bed in the room. I slept on a cracked sofa bed. I have nothing to complain about the hotel, but this greatly changes the comfort and impression of the entire accommodation.
Nice staff, clean room, perfect and calm location (20 min. to Colosseum by foot, max. 10 min. to metro/train), good breakfast.

RomaniaPillows - were incredibly high and hard, but after the first night I asked the reception for two extra pillows, and they were better. Breakfast is very basic, don't have any expectations, for us who don't eat much in the morning, it was alright. The only minus was the fact that there are only 7 tables available, and one morning we had to wait in line to eat. If you want fresh food, and not typical Italian breakfast, you should skip it :) Noise - even though I had the room on the 5th floor, you could hear the traffic from the cars quite loudly.
The staff - very kind and very nice. Cleaning - 10 :). One of the cleanest places I've stayed. The location - close to the termini, quiet and beautiful area. There is a local tavern 100 meters from the location, we recommend it. For the price - quality ratio, it was excellent. The room is bright, beautiful, clean. The bathroom and shower - wonderful.

ItalyI've stayed here before and I liked it that time. Now they improved the breakfast by including a specific floor for it with service. The staff is nice and quick to generate a full receipt (for business purposes). I recommend this place.

South AfricaWe were charged Rome tax (6 Euro per person per night) on leaving. I was unaware of this when I booked. Would have been nice to know. Other than that, I was thrilled with his spot.
A great little gem. Staff were great, breakfast was fantastic, rooms are big and comfortable. Very good value for money in Rome. Short walk from the central train station which has access to all major sites.

ItalyOne aspect that I generally find a bit less satisfying (and I'm not sure if it's due to how booking.com manages user-applied filters or how users navigate the platform) is the need to confirm whether a property indeed has its own parking facility or not, regardless of whether it's a paid service. For travellers like me, especially those on business trips, the accuracy of these search filters is crucial. I've been a loyal booking.com customer for decades, and it's mainly (read ONLY) in Rome where I've encountered situations like selecting "Airport Shuttle" and being offered a taxi (something I could arrange myself, even though it's not related to this wonderful property but rather the renowned Marriott Hotel), or selecting "Parking" only to be directed to public parking spaces or private garages. Time is money, folks! Let's all work together to provide quickly accessible and accurate information that reflects the real state of affairs.
The property boasts a strategically convenient location, just a short walk away from Termini Station. What sets it apart is that it's nestled in an area where you won't feel the usual hustle and bustle that often accompanies hotels in the heart of the city center: This makes the location truly outstanding! You'll find two parking options nearby, one of which operates 24/7 (though it may cost around 30-35 EUR for a full day), and another that's a bit more budget-friendly but closes at 7 PM. As for on-street parking in the blue zones, it's almost impossible to come by due to the heavy traffic density. And let's not forget about the fantastic dining options in the vicinity!

United States of AmericaRooms were just fine but could probably use a mattress update.
Great value and location near Termini. We enjoying long walks to explore and Rome is so walkable, we made this hotel our home base for exploring the city. If you prefer quiet, request a room on the courtyard side. Breakfast was continental with very good coffee. It was clean and bathrooms have been updated recently.

AustraliaWe stayed at Domus Castrense for 3 nights near the end of our European holiday. It was fairly close to Termini station. We walked there dragging our luggage. When we found it, it was just a big closed wooden door and on entry there was a smaller staircase and then an old fashionsed cage lift going up to the reception and then further up to a different floor where our room was. Conveniently enough the breakfast room was on our floor too , the 5th. Breakfast was continental style with pastries, juice, yoghurts, fruit, coffee etc There were a couple of restauants nearby so we didn't have to walk back up past the station for dinner. Would have loved a kettle or coffee machine in the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small if you have 2 large suitcases like we did...... but at least fairly fresh, modern and newish.
