눉*Wifi-extremely poor connection. Worked 1 out of the 4 nights we stayed and worked very slowly. Frustrating because we had a child who had many questions about the sites we saw, and no way we could google answers for him. Also, the internet seems to be a pay as you go type and credit appears to have run out after just one night. It didn't work the first night. On the second night, we used the internet to look up bus schedules, visiting hours for various sites and checked email. That was the extent of our use. Secondly, we could NOT check into our flights! Very frustrating as we have young kids and needed to make sure we were all seated together. Selecting a place with wifi is crucial for us and it failed us miserably. We also did not feel an effort was made to remedy this either. Lack of alternate communication method with owner. The owner was very responsive, but via email. So since wifi didn't work, we couldn't contact her as needed. There was NO landline in the apartment. For us, when we realized it, was a major concern as well. The apartment is in a residential area. Businesses close early. If there was an emergency, I would have had no way to reach emergency services or the owner because there was no phone or wifi. For a short stay, I did not want to register my passport and go through with paying extra money for a SIM card. The owner said she would try and bring one by, but did not. While the location was good, it was also just all cobblestones leading to the place. For those with young ones, it's not stroller friendly unless you have one that does well over cobblestones. Airport shuttle is offered. However, keep in mind that it is a very small car. I believe it was a Fiat. To transport our family, it required 2 cars (another Fiat) and the price was higher. We had 2 adults, 2 kids and an infant. We had 2 checked bags and one rolling carry on. The bags, one adult and one infant fit in one car. The other 3 rode in the next car.
눇Caring staff-This is a family-run place apartment. It used to be the grandfather's place. Location-good walking distance to Vatican City, about a 35-40 min walk for us (traveling with kids) to the Colosseum Cleanliness of apartment-This is obviously a well-loved place and the family makes sure it stays clean. Availability of all needed supplies in kitchen, not just bare basics Washer-beware there is a charge of 6 euros for this, although she will provide laundry detergent Value-2 twin beds and a queen bed, full kitchen, laundry.. it was a great value for us Safe-this apartment complex is filled with families that have lived there a long time. They all know each other and the area feels safe, even walking late at night. Nearby market available-limited hours, but decent selection of fruits, veggies, pasta, toiletries and packaged food
