Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The toilet had poor ventilation which led to the place smelling bad not long after it had been cleaned each day.
The Location was perfect, very close to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I loved the location of this hostel. We could walk to every sight and also the grocery store was nearby. Our room was okey, it was great to have air conditioning in it. However, the bathroom was not very clean and the shower was horrible. There was no soap during all our stay so for 5 days. But it was okey for its quality-price ratio.

Made it clearer how to access the property. It's a shared door on the street with buzzer
Large airy clean room with fridge. Excellant location. Cafe, supermarket, laundry all really close. Many good restaurants nearby. Quiet area just inside city walls.

The room is very cold, the bathroom has cold water, the paddling pool is clogged so I'm not happy

There is no breakfast. Sewer gas escapes during the night. My daughter had an asthma attack in the middle of the night. Keep toilet and bathroom door closed. Open windows. Shower was very small. Elevator does not work if exterior door is left open on another floor.
Location close to food and public transportation.

depressive decoration. Shower doors does not close. Is a hot room in summer.
walking distance from Termini. Has lift if you are traveling with suitcase. They provide you fresh towels every day. 18 min walking from Fontana di Trevi and Piazza Spagna.

We had a couple of issues with the hot water in the shower. We reported it but the staff couldn't seem to find the problem. There was a WiFi connection issue on our last evening too but this was just in the evening... perhaps it was due to many other people being online.
Stefano was extremely welcoming and helpful, location was good, near to public transport and the city centre. Bed was comfy, and the room was new, spacious, and quiet at night. Also, sweeties at the check-in desk - yum!

It wasn’t completely clean even the kettle had fungus, the beds was not comfortable. They must to repair broken bathroom parts.
The location is pretty close to all principal places

Thought B&B means bed n breakfast. The room wasn’t prepared as I requested twin beds.

bathroome was soooo dirty! it was just cleaned once per day and not on specific time schedule and even after cleaning was not clean!!! every thing was so old, the door handle of bathroom was not working! the room was also dirty .. the sheets were so old..
nothing! i so regret this choice aqnd disappointed with booking .com because of misleading rate !!!!!

I think they show the marble entrance of the building because its the only photo they can show. There were only 2 bathrooms for the place, one was closed because it was not working and the other was only partially working, disgusting.... The kitchent was only 2 heaters, no kitchen really.... far from everything.. I wouldnt repeat and I wouldnt recommend it either.
the receptionist when we arrived was really nice and helped us get in our room a bit before standard time.

There is a very noisy ventilator in the room, which does not even cool. There were problems falling asleep and it was impossible to breathe.
A very good place for a weekend in Rome. The location is excellent. You can easily walk to the city center: we hardly used public transport. These apartments are also located near the train station. Very friendly personal and a calm atmosphere. We were checked in on time, without any delay. There are many delicious Cafés nearby.

No proper reception or receptionist. Friendly but helpless. Not speaking anything than Italian and Russian. Reception bell damaged and you get a power strike trying to make them open for you. Beds like camping lay chairs. Bed lamp damaged and no one repairs. Wardrobe back wall facing out. Not even a single simple glass provided in the room. Fan as loud as a helicopter landing. Toilet seat damaged and no one repairs even for 3 days. This place has not deserved to be on booking.com 150€ per night is a poor joke while it's actually not more worth 30€!
