How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

although we didn't have a car, the area has very limited car parking
the hotel is in a 600 year old building and some of these features are still displayed. it fits in well with the history of Florence. the management are wonderful and very accomodating. this is not an impersonal chain hotel.

The owners/staff were welcoming and fantastic. The location is excellent for seeing Florence. The room was very clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well and breakfast bar was great! Highly recommend. Grazie mille!!!

The towels were more like pillowcase material than towel material. Not bad just different.
Conveniently located to all the touristy areas in Florence. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Stored our luggage and Called us a taxi on our last day. Room was fine for a family of 4.

There is no elevator to the second floor, it only runs to the 1st floor. This didn't bother us at all, but just a heads up if you have mobility issues to check with the hotel before booking.
Everything was perfect, wonderful staff, great breakfast, lovely accommodations and very convenient location.

There's really nothing that I didn't like. Literally zero complaints. It's an older building in Europe, so the stairway was a little dark before sunrise?
This was the most comfortable be we've found in Europe so far. The facilities are nothing spectacular, but you shouldn't be holed up in your hotel that much, any way, so it doesn't matter. The breakfast offered was small but fantastic and the location of the hotel itself is good.

Hotel Collodi Firenze was super clean, great location, friendly staff and great deal for the price. The bed & pillows were super comfortable and the shower had lots of hot water and great water pressure! We would definitely stay again!

Great value room in Florence, close to the station. It's a bit retro (which I personally like) but all very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great too - lots of options, including muesli, yoghurt, fruit, coffee.

Very average breakfast, no fresh bread.
Lovely old Hotel with quirky rooms and furnishings. Close to markets and resturants and main tourist attractions. 10 mins to station.

Elevator only goes to one of two floors so stairs an issue for elderly or handicapped.
Centrally located near major attractions, restaurants and market. Rooms are nice and in a historic building. Service and staff exceptional.

Nothing, We will be back
Delightful small B&B hotel close to the markets and 10 mins walk from the Rail Station. Close to restaurants and cafes, but in a quiet street. Rooms well appointed and very comfortable with good plumbing. Very nice continental breakfast. Lovely staff who gave good advice on Restaurants and sightseeing.

The gentleman at the reception may be the most kind and helpful person in the world, he helped us a lot and greeted us very kindly. The room was very comfortable and very clean. It is a facility that I will definitely miss. This was my favorite hotel among the boutique hotels I have ever stayed in.
