The walk into town was scenic and short, but harrowing because of the narrow sidewalk and racing traffic. A shuttle would have been much appreciated.

We went during off season in March so the hotel restaurant was not open. The walk to the main area of sorrento where there are a lot of restaurants is about a 15min downhill. The view is amazing the entire time so it doesn’t feel like a huge burden. The only downside was my husband had hurt his foot earlier in the trip so we had to take a taxi up and down a couple times which was quite pricy! 30 euros one way!! No fault of the hotel just FYI in case you’re unable to walk far distances

Such a beautiful, unique hotel experience! We stayed in the room with the wrap around balcony and we never wanted to leave the hotel. It was truly an unforgettable stay. Amazing breakfast in the mornings with plenty of options and a stunning view. Everywhere you go in this hotel the views are breathtaking. Staff are super friendly! Would definitely return.

Initially, upon our arrival, we couldn't find the front desk but did figure it out and all was good.

The views were stunning, the breakfasts were fantastic and the dining room had the most amazing views. Anna Leece (spelling? ) was cheerful and helpful. She encouraged on our last full day to take a bus to Amalfi, which turned out to be an awesome decision. The waiters at breakfast were very and attentive. The breakfast was amazing too. We are so glad that we chose La Tonnarella for our stay!

Our room terrace was huge and had an expansive view of Mt. Vesuvius, the Gulf of Naples and Sorrento. The hotel was charming and beautifully situated on multi levels. Eating outdoors on the dining room terrace was lovely. Our meals were phenomenal and were impeccably served by a highly trained staff! It was a pleasure to stay there.

Can’t think of a thing!

Beautiful view and very private rooms with full patios on some overlooking the ocean. Within walking distance of town/shopping and restaurants!! Breakfast buffet was fabulous!!

This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in ,location spectacular, views from balcony( *room 3 ) were amazing greeted immediately on arrival ,bags taken to room ,Josef at reception was friendly, professional and welcoming, all the staff were excellent and friendly, had breakfast on rooftop deck just about the best view of the islands ,sea and Sorrento coastline . went in the lift to the private beach ⛱️ and swam in the sea ..

The Hard mattress and thin rough bath towels.

We loved the scenic views, the traditional colorful decor and charm of this lovely property. The staff were wonderful & helpful especially: Annalise, Luigi & Genaro. Having daily breakfast in the dining room with the breathtaking views was terrific. The outdoor spaces are really nice as well. What needs vast attention & improvement is the bed mattress. It was hard, old and very uncomfortable for the daily cost to stay here. I would also recommend buying new softer fluffier bath towels for the comfort of your guests. Doing these 2 important things would make this jewel of a hotel earn 5 stars!

The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The room and view were perfect and very comfortable. The restaurant had some of the best food we ate in our 9 days of traveling in Italy, including being better than a Michelin restaurant we went to in Tuscany. This was better.

The room #13 that was assigned to us did not meet the height requirement for a person taller than 5'3", particularly the bathroom, since it did not have a shower and the bathtub was difficult to access. Also in the case of my husband who suffers from a health condition that does not allow him to bathe in a bathtub. I took the situation to the reception but they could not resolve it until the next day. We stayed in the room since my husband's brother was in the next room and allowed him to bathe. I repeat, room #13 is for guests of short stature, who do not want to shower and who do not have limiting health conditions.

The room we had was smaller than we thought it would be. The view we had for a deluxe room was mostly parking lot and a little bit of flowers. We didn’t spend much time in there so it was fine.

The location was perfect. We loved the views of the sea and mountains. You can see Mt. Vesuvius from the restaurant. The staff was very attentive and extremely friendly.

The bed and the pillows. Not the most comfortable. I was able to sleep though.

Staff was excellent. They remember who you are, even your morning coffee order. Super helpful and nice. The food was magical. Every single thing I ate at this hotel (2 dinners, 3 breakfasts) was amazing, especially anything seafood.

The beach is rocky and a recommendation for beach shoes would be nice. And paying for lounge chairs is not good.

The breakfast was great and the staff was very helpful in making our stay a great experience.
