Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo minifrig in room. Decor is a bit dated. Not really a "view", more like a glimpse of the water through the trees.
Perfect location close to town and to the boat dock for trips to Borromean Islands. Very nice staff - gave us some great guidance for the boats and made an evening boat transfer and reservation at Isola Pescatori. Very good breakfast.

Belgiumthe hotel is really well situated, very near the port to visit the islands. Also the citycenter of Stresa is not far away. There is a parking, which is comfortable. Staff is friendly. The swimming pool is great!

SwitzerlandA little dated in parts and could have made more of the large reception area.
Small old fashioned hotel in a perfect location for views and travel to/from the Borromeo Islands. Balcony rooms at the front have great views out on the lake and islands. About a 15min walk along the lake into the Center of Stresa.

AustraliaUnable to find a taxis to the train station during a rain storm. Also the bar was closed and I would have loved to have sat on their lively lounges sipping a cool afternoon drink.
Location was perfect for walks and ferry rides.

IcelandMy main complain is how the hotel describes its rooms when booking. For example, the room we selected was supposed to have: garden, mountain, lake and landmark views. When we arrived it turned out only to have garden and partial mountain view. This is unfortunate as we expected different views when we booked the room. At other hotels you can often choose a room based on the view i.e. a room with a lake view is often more expensive than a room with a garden view. As all the above views were listed under the room we selected, we of course expected the room to have those views. When we asked about this in the reception we were told that the views were subject to availability and that there were no rooms available with all those views. This is like listing air conditioning as part of every room, when in fact only some of them have air conditioning. It is misleading. I would recommend the hotel to change its description of facilities in accordance with what the rooms actually offer.

United KingdomInsects, I was bitten but that's not the hotel's fault 🙁
Good location, right by lake, pleasant helpful staff and good breakfast. Cafe by the ferry terminal didn't look much but the food was very good and the staff friendly 🙂

SwitzerlandThe air-conditioning is a bit old and can hence be difficult to operate, but in the end it worked.
The hotel is situated right next to the lake promenade and the Lido from where you can take boat tours to the islands. The center can be reached by a beautiful walk.

United Kingdomthe hotel is out of the centre of town and is not near many restaurants and whilst the walk to town is lovely by the lakeside we found we needed a taxi at least one way
the hotel offered good service and facilities ,and the staff friendly and efficient ,we enjoyed our couple of days on the lakeside . Parking was easy and the hotel was near the ferry to the islands .

United KingdomWalking from station needed longer route as no footpaths on short route road. Instructions to find room in hotel could have been clearer. There was a big event on nearby island and the pass that would have helped us get past the police was not given out before the event. Electrical wiring cover in bathroom could be better secured to the wall. Light switches on wall inside bathroom near sink - but that is Italian electrics I assume.
Spacious room. Great view from balcony of the lake. Easy walk along lakeside to town. Many restaurants not far away. Breakfast staff very attentive and operate in many languages. Staff helpful with train strike issues.

Italy- The view was not on the lake, I guess only a few rooms have that view - not very close to the center but doable on foot - we could only stay with the curtains because our window was on the hotel garden with other people there
- We parked there - Breakfast

United KingdomLack of restaurant meant a walk into town was unavoidable. Breakfast was okay but not outstanding. Rooms were a bit noisy but that was probably down to the age of the building.

United States of AmericaSome folks may find the rooms small, but it was adequate. We spent most of our time out. The bed is comfortable, but they need thicker pillows.
The location is perfect and the staff are very accommodating! The breakfast is a good way to start a day of exploring and we were surprised at the amount of Gluten Free items (breads, crackers, cookies) they had available. Lastly, we were pleasantly surprised when the night manager provided us coffee and breakfast at 0400 in the morning as we were getting ready for our 0530 taxi pick up time.

SwitzerlandThe hotel is right on the lake. To get to downtown Stresa you can walk the breathtaking panorama walk, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes. The rooms had everything we needed, including a nice balkony with direct access to the garden and view of the gardens and a tiny bit of the lake. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast had a big selection, including different joices of free-from-products. We really enjoyed our stay.
