Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. It can be slightly noisy. But only if you are very sensitive to it. We didn't mind.
Great stay - perfectly located in Ortigia. The host is very responsive and has an app with the best tips of restaurants, places to go, everything you need to know. Both apartments I rented were charming, in a very good state, perfectly clean.

Apartment was in a very nice location, close to the sea and restaurants. There was a roof terrace which was lovely. Concierge app to inform us of all facilities and locations nearby was a very nice touch.

Because of its closeness to neighboring buildings, it can sometimes be noisy, even though it's located on a quiet street. However, I believe this noise issue can be encountered in any place within Ortigia.
The studio's location is excellent, situated near a charming little beach and all the city's major attractions. The terrace is a delightful spot where I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing after a refreshing dip in the sea. Plus, there are great restaurants within a convenient 2-minute stroll.

While it didn't bother us at all, the stairs are narrow and steep, and it would be a struggle with heavy luggage.
The room was very quiet, but close to everything. The roof terrace was a nice extra. The room had everything you need.

Everything was great!!
The place is amazing! We were in Sicily already for 1 week and passed by a few other places, but this one was by far the best! It is small, but very cosy and for a couple is great! Usually I dont see this in reviews but I consider very important: the shower is amazing, the toilet very clean, great water pressure! Marco was so receptive, friendly and helpful!! Always available! We liked so much our stay that we decided to extend, of course because Ortigia is amazing but also because we were in a great place! Grazie mille Marco!

Parking is quite a long walk away but we were able to drop off the bags.
Lovely apartment and great location. Very clean and welcoming with snacks and drinks provided. Easy access and communication with host. Great location in the old town.

Excellent communication with Marco, was willing to help with anything. Clean and cosy apartment, quite location but very accessible within Ortigia. I wholeheartedly recommend this host!

Nothing - if you arrive by car, keep in mind the appartment is about 900m away from where car can park since it’s a restricted area, but this was not a problem for us.
Loved it ! Check in and out was super easy (no need to wait for anyone), location was right in the earth of the old town, appartment was super cozy, some snacks were waiting for us when we arrived. Would recommend. The app with recommandations was a nice touch !

All good. The stairs were a bit difficult to carry up luggage.
Excellent location. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Sightseeing was very easy from the apartment. It was good to watch the sunsets. Very clean and comfy. The terrace was lovely, especially as we had booked both rooms, so we had the terrace to ourselves. Concise and clear instructions for entry to the apartments. The app was extremely useful. The map showed our location when we were out and about. We booked a taxi from the recommended service and it was very reliable and cheaper than from a taxi rank.

the apartments are located at the very end of Ortigia. it’s a short walk into the touristic center and a short walk to Ortigias beaches. the apartment is nicely furnished and the host is super organized. the communication runs through WhatsApp.

No public transport close by - seasonal shuttle not running Limited space to relax in the studio, mitigated by being able to use the roof terrace

We should have stayed longer!
Suite 1 was on the ground floor and easy to access with such clear information from the host. Lovely set up and very nicely presented with all the comforts of home. Wonderful location for exploring Oritiga by foot. The best way to see everything and get lost in its beauty. .

Lovely, simple little apartment, with a kitchenette should you want to self cater, and a balcony overlooking the street. Simply furnished, with a comfortable bed. There is a private terrace on the roof, with rooftop views. Although situated at the far end of Ortigia, it is a short walk to the Duomo and town center, from where you can get a hop on hop off tourist bus that circulates Siracusa and takes you to the historic sites. Our host, Marco, was very helpful and quick to respond on WhatsApp.

For us, it was perfect.
Apartment was very modern, well designed with great facilities all round. It is on a beautiful, quiet street, a very short walk from the sea and the centre of the town, with restaurants and bars around the corner. we loved it.
