Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing to criticise. It’s not 5 star but it’s what we wanted.
Very well located near the station, but still only 10-20 minutes walk to most attractions. Staff very helpful and friendly which was appreciated as we don’t speak much Italian. Breakfast was very good. Much better than expected. Despite the lovely cake we were able to enjoy a healthy breakfast.

It's quite old and need some maintenance. Above the shower there were humidity stains on the ceiling with dropping pieces. Hairdryer was not working but staff fixed the problem right away. Couple more pillows on the bed wouldn't hurt.
Very friendly staff, close to the train station, close to the main attractions and city center. Quiet place, no rumors from the street. Spacious bathroom.

Very poorly lit stairs, dangerous. Slow and very small elevator.

The hotel does need some refurbishment. There is constant noise if staying anywhere near a lift.
Excellent location close to the station and within walking distance to the centre. It is what one expects from price paid even if in low season. Decent size of room.

-There was no central heating, only an air ventilation that could be set to max 20 degrees Celsius - it was very cold all the time, even with the heating on at 20 degrees all night, we had to add an additional blanket on top of everything else to be able to be warm at night -Minibar could barely fit a couple of water bottles -Wifi had a lot of downs -Blankets were kinda dirty, one had a huge dark brown stain -Breakfast is very basic, it was not worth it (Coffee was excellent, though) -Very thin walls and no soundproofing, you can hear everything from the other rooms and the hallway -TV was very small -The furniture in the room is quite outdated -View to the parking lot, did not look very nice -A couple of days before arrival, we received a scam from what looked like the hotel via the booking app asking us to make a payment in order to secure the room booking - it was not the hotel's fault, however BE AWARE!!
-Decent size room -Comfortable, huge beds -Location is good, very close to the train station -Room was clean, new towels every day -Hotel staff was always very attentive, they gave us an extra blanket and let us leave the luggage at the hotel so we could enjoy the sights after check out -New elevator, quite small -Bathroom was a nice size, shower was good -24/7 reception service -Decent value for money

There was no WiFi. The quality of the bed and/or mattress is not good.

If you are after functionality and location, then this is the place for you. Don't expect frills and luxury. But the staff's proactive approach do make it special!!
Location is a major advantage as it is close to the train station, but also a lovely stroll under the loggias to the historic centre. An excellent base for discovering this beautiful city.
