Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The host. Gianni was superb in meeting us, showing us around, explaining places to visit etc. The accommodation was perfect for my elderly mum and I. Lift made access easy. Great restaurant just by the accommodation

The host was exceptionally accommodating! We arrived much later than we originally planned. He not only waited for us, but helped us with the luggage and welcomed us with a bottle of wine, snacks, and a great overview of the city.

The location was fantastic, just over the Ponte Vecchio and close to the Pitti Palace. Our host was extremely accommodating, offering excellent neighborhood dining options, helping to arrange taxi transport. Very comfortable walking distance to all the locations we visited during our stay.

Great apartment with a generous host. He met us at the outside door and showed us around while explaining where everything is located. Well stocked kitchen and given wine and snacks from the host. The beds are very comfortable, quiet location near to major sites. Restaurants and shops right out the door. Wonderful place to stay in Florence .

Clean & fantastic location! Hosts were extremely helpful letting us drop our bags before apartment was ready for us and then took time to go over the details of the apartment and give recommendations for restaurants and gelato! Super friendly and the recommendations were great!

Found finding the apartment a little challenging initially, as the Florence numbering system is different and the location on booking.com isn't clear. Apart from that, a great stay
Great location and a warm welcome from the hosts. Very kind in their explanation of things to do and generous with nibbles and wine. Apartment has everything you need and two bathrooms was a great surprise. An easy experience. Really grateful for the connection before hand to book parking. Easily accommodated the three of us. Loads of space for an inner city apartment

Great location at Ponte Vecchio. Walking distance to all major attractions. We communicated by email and WhatsApp. Owner met us and directed us to the room and showed us how to operate everything. Very quaint and comfortable. Great amenities.

Not a complain but we found it a little strange that wine and beers were provided but not shampoos. Not a big deal, there was a super mart nearby.
The apartment was very comfortable for our party of 3. Appreciated the wine, beers, soda, water, snacks and laundry pods. The location was good. It was in a busy area near yet we don’t hear the hustle and bustle in the apartment.

Giuliani and Barbara communicated before and after our stay. The place was perfect for a family of 4. The location was great, and it was very easy to get everywhere. The bedrooms and sitting area were cozy and cute. Loved the decor. They provided a bottle of wine, some beers, cokes, water and snacks. They gave us suggestions for dinner and Gelato, which was incredible. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this place to my family and friends.

Liked everything but the shower was bijou
Central to Florence, beside the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Great facilities and the wine/beer was a nice touch. Great recommendations for restaurants/bars etc, we just didn't have time for them all. Would definitely stay here again.

Central, easy access, but quiet.. All attractions, restaurants, and shopping are minutes away. Gianni and Barbara were nice, great communicators and proactive in helping us manage our trip. Great restaurant recommendations, too!

Lots of space, comfortable beds with AC unit in each room. Gianni met us on arrival and gave us lots of information about the area. Hosts were always available for quick response to any questions we had. Loved having a grocery store so close.

The smaller bedroom is pretty tight for 2 adults.
Everything. The location is perfect. Good restaurants are very close. The apartment was excellent- recommending to my son for his next visit to Florence.

The location could not be better, halfway between the Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti. This is the best laid-out small apartment that Eleanor, who is a decorator, has ever seen; everything that you could want was right there Gianni, the owner, met us outside the building at the appointed time (and waited for us, as we had an airport delay). We would stay there again on any return to Florence, and would recommend it to others.

nice location! great space for us as a family of 3, certainly it can accommodate one more people. good bakery and supermarket around to get the breakfast. Gianni is very warm and helped around Florence.

The 2nd bedroom, the bed is up against a wall and a tight fit, so getting up to go to the toilet in the night is a struggle. The shower in the 2nd bedroom is very small.
Super close to Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace. Elevator for my mother-in-law with bad knees. Complete kitchen, including dishwasher and fairly big fridge. Living room. Washing machine with detergent provided. Good sized balcony which was great for drying laundry on provided rack. Coffee table pops up to convert to dining table; chairs stored in TV cupboard. Two en suite bathrooms. Pretty quiet. Large bath sheets plus towels were great! Owner was very helpful.
