However the place lacks maintainance, as my room's minifridge was broken and smelly, and the lights went out for a long time when we were there. Is a bit far from the city, so having a car is a must

The place is great, with private beach and all facilities you need

Wi-fi could be a bit better, car is a must for this location.

Breakfast was really good, staff was nice, great beach was empty at the end of September. Nice small houses, quiet and beautiful place. Close to Palau and Maddalena archipelago, not far from Porto Cervo and Olbia.

    Wifi connection could be improved

The peaceful place, the nice staff, the wonderful sea and beach, the closeness to other beautiful places of Sardinia, the massages at the Thalasso SPA. This was the second year I was at Porto Mannu.

Thought there was kitchen within our room but found out this was not the case. Should be more clearly specified which rooms does not have it. Also most of the time room WiFi didn't work.

Nice breakfast, also beautiful beach just meters away. Close to town with nice places to dine.

Odd smell from bathroom and so many insects around accomodation. Breakfast time is so crowded.

(Almost) Private beach of the residence is so good! My room was so close to the beach, it was only 3 minutes walk to the beach with crystal clear water. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be reserved at front desk. Kitchenett is fully equiptted. Plenty of private parking places.

I would suggest this place only to the people with the intention of hiring a car or who's going to Sardinia with the ferry and their own car. The formula "residence" is ideal if you have a car, otherwise you will need to spend 34 euro on taxi to go to the downtown of Palau to buy what you need and then come back to the accommodation. A shuttle is needed both from/to the airport of Olbia at a "democratic" price and a shuttle for Palau at a convenient price under 10 euro. The restaurant opening hours are a bit strange since you only have two hours to eat, either on lunch time or dinner time. There are too many extra costs. They should put a feedback form to know what needs to be improved.

The location near the beach; clean place; bar is the best service. The receptionist Ivana, the bartender Silvia and the owners of the doggie Maia are great workers, helpful and really kind.

The buffet dining in the restaurant was horrible and big disappointment. No choice in the buffet, the food looked really bad. Definitely not anything what you are coming to Italy for. No alá carte menu available. The refrigerators in rooms are not working. They know about it, that's why the advise to bring food to the reception to store in their fridge. This should be refurbished! Don't think you will be able to make ice or have a cold water. The umbrellas with long chairs are really overpriced on the beach in comparison with other resorts I have visited. I didn't like also too many instructions and restrictions hanging everywhere with don't and not allowed

Breakfast was nice and the staff in the restaurant and housekeeping did extraordinary job.

    - Needs updating: shower box leaking, toilet difficult to flush; mould on the walls; - Lack of clarity in what's included in the rate (i.e. they confirmed also via email that we could get a change of towels at the reception but only upon arrival they said that they charge you 4€; unclear which kind of kitchenware is available - there were pans and forks but neither glasses nor plates); - No supermarket in the area, need to drive 5 to 6 km; - Restaurant is only buffet and fixed menu (fixed price), no à-la-carte; - They have a lot of loud entertainment, perfect for families/kids but not for people who just would like to enjoy a drink in peace; - They say WiFi is free of charge in public areas but: the network is so bad that often you can’t even get to connect, useless; they only inform you upon arrival (so no info on Booking.com web page) that you only have 30 mins free WiFi per day and you have a data limit.

    - the location is wonderful, stunning views - very nice beach (actually they have two) - the staff speaks good English - the apartment is quite spacious - very comfortable and big double bed - airco

Everything was just perfect, only the food (lunch menu) wasn't so tasty. They have a big variety and big amount, but we didn't find it so delicious or special. But that was the only thing.

Beautiful surroundings and view, clean and nice rooms near the beach. Helpful staff. Two swimming pools with salty water. Best for families!

Nobody explained us which services had the hotel and how to use them. I would have liked more attention from their side.

The hotel was a bit far from everywhere and difficult to reach from Palau but the location was beautiful in front of a semi private beach and the famous bear-like rock. The breakfast was included and was very good, recently made croissants, as it was the dinner we had there. Great quality buffet. The bed confortable and the bathroom a bit tiny but clean and quite new.

After waiting for maintenance in the evening and then again in the morning-Our phone never worked they could not fix it and if you are depending on cold refridgerator- don't- the ones here are luke warm at best. Breakfast buffet is ok and you can't charge anything from the bar to your room- so plan ahead for sunset cocktails.

Actually had a nice room overlooking the ocean-coffee at breakfast is excellent. Purchased food items we're very nice

Changing bed sheets should be more often. Overall cleanliness was not too good. Fridge was terrible *(yet free so no complaints) Staff knows poor English, especially restaurant waters BARELY speak any english...

Seaview was very picturesque (for 100 euro more). Room was well equipped (best safe I've seen in a hotel room) with nice furniture. Air conditioner was top notch (broke on the 7th day though) Wi-fi in room!!!!!!! (unlike 2 other Sardinian hotels)

Low pressure in the showers. No microwave in the rooms. The apartments vary a lot in their location - some are tucked away with no views and others have great views of the sea.

Great resort location with the fabulous beach only a short walk away. Apartments are well equipped and staff are very accommodating and helpful. Felt very safe on the resort.

We went 12th - 26th September 2015 and during our second week the hotel proactively started shutting down, it was noticeable that the cleaning was focused on shutting the hotel for the winter and not general cleaning around. The pool and paved areas around the pool and bar were not cleaned for the 2 weeks we were there. The spa that is prominent in their website had already closed for the winter when we arrived so that was very disappointing As we had only booked residence we didn't get any room cleaning for 2 weeks, but we did get new towels and bed sheets, but we had to change the beds ourselves. Nice beach but you have to pay for the loungers €15 = 2 loungers and an umbrella. no reduction for low season !! Despite my negatives it was good value for money, but the hotel needs to keep an eye on the the details.

Loved the location and the staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable with all we needed. we opted for residence only so had a kitchenette and separate bedroom. Bed was comfortable. We had a nice terrace with an lovely view of the bay. Great location for visiting Palau, Cannigione, and boat trips to the Archipelago.

However, the apartment looked really old. That was not the impression from the pictures... In all the pictures from Porto Mannu, there is only one picture from one room, which looks correct and NO one single picture of any bathroom. Either we ended in one of their oldest and non renovated ones... The bathroom was really OLD. Internet was only available in reception and only for 30 minutes...!!

The beach was really there and the global location was nice. The price was very good... now I understand why. And the staff was very helpful.

I was not very happy for the bedbugs in the babybed. Even if they change it the day after an excuse would have been nice. And maybe a free fee for the babybed that night that caused plenty of itches. The distance to the nearest village, Palau, was to long and even the way to the local bus to the village.

Fantastic view over the ocean and very Close to the beach! Pretty good breakfast, but the buffé in the evening not quit so good.

Really not what we were expecting- felt more like a Butlins holiday camp than a hotel. Staff were friendly but not much else going for the place other than that. The furniture in the room was tatty and stained, and the bathroom wasn't large enough to swing a cat in. WiFi was non-existent, despite what we were told. The whole place could do with immediate modernisation. Bit of a shame really, given the price.

Facilities are old-fashioned. Back in 70' Everything is very worn. In the kitchen complete lack of cookware. Kitchenette without electrical teapot. Hmm. Wifi and internet is completely useless. Have tried to connect 5 times - succeed only once with the speed of 28 b/s and ping 800 - "hello dial up" ... Only a few persons from the staff understands English, thankfully all are very polite and sweet. Restaurant is total disaster in terms of national cuisine and not cheap at all. Animation in hotel maybe is funny but ONLY if you are Italian. Swimming pool is useless - too high chlorine level in water feels unpleasant. Our kids didn't want to use at all.

Beach is just perfect. Actually the best one in the region. Position of hotel is very good. Palau just 8 min. away by car. Car MUST HAVE

We were very disappointment with the food and the dining accomodation in Porto Mannu. Breakfast is really terrible (you even have to eat with plastic spoons), and dinner is even worse. As for the value for money: it does not worth it, too much money for a place like that, even because you need to pay 20 cents for a shower on the beach!!! :( And then i didn't mention the high rent-price for the sunbeds and the umbrellas :(

The hotel itself was perfect, as for the location and the senseful rooms as well. The beach was near to the residence rooms,so were the swimming pools. The staff were able to help us anything we needed. Breakfast was ok.

Did not specify when we booked that it was a self catering apt and there would be no cleaning or linen service. Had to pay extra for more clean towels.

Liked the great view over the beach from our apartment far up on the hill, very quiet. Great beach, wonderful water, you do not need to go to Costa Esmeralda, this one is very good. apartment is clean, kitchen utensils very practical, enough dishes

Animation on the beach (before noon, approx. 1,5 hour of noisy music) Just next to our apartment was a small place, where young boys used to play football just during the siesta. Management of the hotel should do something against it, as they are very noisy. Approx. 5 km far away from Palau, where shops and restaurants are located. Better to come with own car.

The apartment was "ok" - decor and bathroom tired and outdated...the toilet was located directly in front of the shower, meaning sitting on it sideways ! The BBC channel on the TV rarely worked and the Air Con kept tripping out and never fixed. The very loud music for Zumba and evening dancing was a nusiance. Though it did not go on much past 11pm. The beach was very crowded & the hawkers trying to sell you tat ALL THE TIME were a pain. The ~1.5 hours of very loud water Zumba on the beach was also a surpriise we were not expecting. After the 2nd day on the beach we did not return there and found a small quiet beach with few people, no Zumba or Hawkers the location of which I am going to keep a sectret :-)

The apartment location was near to reception, pool and beach meaning the walk to the beach and gardens was easy compared to the first apartment we were offered some way up the hill.

Facilities in the complex are very limited. For food there's just the fixed-price buffets or (during the day only) slices of pizza and a few other bits from the bar. To stock your self-catering kitchen you need to drive to Palau and figure out where the supermarket is - not between 13.30 and 16.30 when it's closed. There are no provisions on site. If the weather is bad (it was very windy when we were there) there's absolutely nothing to do, as even the bar area is outside and exposed. The buffet restaurant seating area feels like a canteen and doesn't allow you to enjoy the view over the bay while eating. Don't get excited about the presence of flat screen TVs as all the channels are Italian. Except for bbc world news - the only channel with no sound! For English language reading materials, all we could find was a handful of books and newspapers in the back of a dusty newsagent 20 mins drive away. There was a complete absence of instructions, guide to resort, etc., which would have been really helpful. For example, we could have done with a map showing us where to put the rubbish, as the rooms aren't cleaned. After a week we received a package of fresh sheets and towels, but not any service to go with them. Pathway right outside apartment meant constant noise from people walking / kids running past and lack of privacy on terrace.

Accessibility to beach - for us it was great, but maybe not so convenient if you get allocated an apartment that's further away. Beds were nice and comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just as well as there are no instructions / guide to the resort provided. If you don't ask, you won't find out! The power sockets don't fit standard European plugs - you can get an adaptor for free at reception, but you don't know that till you ask! There are some activities - daily aqua-fitness and zumba, for free, but these aren't publicised unless you take the trouble to seek out the notice board or happen to be in the public area where they take place and find your peace suddenly and possibly unwelcomely shattered. Food in buffet was plentiful, varied and tasty. Good value at 22 Euros pp for dinner.

Staff was amazing, specially Fran. Location is perfect for those who rent a car and want to stay out of the fuss in porto cervo/porto rotondo. Really recommend boat trip in il vagabondo

There is nothing to do there without car. You can reach Palau only by car - there are no buses or something. Rooms are small, there is not enough plates and dishes. Nobody came to clean our room, they only brought towels. Bad noise insulation: if your flatmates are noisy you'll go crazy

Friendly staff, nice territory, good swiming pool. Beach is really very close. Spa center with nice prises

Parking is not always close to the apartments and you have to carry your luggage up the hill and a for a good distance! The rooms are very stuffy and the air-condition is only in the leaving room and does not really do much. The hotel needs renovation. The decor, bathrooms, etc is old and not becoming. Its all about "you have pay for this and you have to pay for that". This was out 10 min introduction to the hotel. They charge par day for a beach towel and this is a beach resort?!! They charge the wrong credit card and were not able to correct it. Only the last transaction can be un-done on their system?!!! You need a car... There is nothing in the immediate surroundings of the hotel. You need an hour from the Olbia airport to they charge €35 for one way / per person for airport transport.

Friendly Staff Nice view from the apartment

Attractive view from appartment terrace, convinient and not crowded beach, nice surroundings of Costa Smeralda, a lot of places to visit around by car or scooter.

Wi-Fi is not luxury but necessity! It only works around reception?! Very, very expensive sun beds and umbrellas (15 €/day/set). Beach is full of sunbeds and has very limited place to stay without hiring the beds. There is no beds possibilities around the pool. Personnel has very limited English knowledge. If you are looking for sport activities we advise you to avoid this place as well.

If you like sandy beaches, quiet and nice place to stay, Italian food, nice surrounding scenery....this is the place to stay. If you are looking for night life avoid this place :-). The guests are mostly Italians, young families and some older people. The staff is helpful. You can arrange your stay even out of check in/out hours (very useful if you have late night ferry)....unfortunately we did not know that, since on Booking is not mentioned anywhere. Please also correct the price for Wi-Fi, It costs 10€/week.
