Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TurkeyNot having an elevator at 3 floors up is a bit exhausting particularly when having big luggages.
Room and building is rather old, however considering the amazing location and general structure of Venice, the room does the job. Clean toilets and a stone building.

GermanyThere’s no elevator, the room smelled a bit.
It had a good location. We rented the room with its private external bathroom. Our room we rented was very large.

AustraliaThe neighbour woke us up numerous times trying to unlock the toilet door - it was extremely loud and very frustrating. The shower was mouldy and needs a scrub also. The air con also didn’t keep up with what we needed.
Nice and roomy, great location, had everything we needed.

CanadaRemember these rooms are not hotels and don't mention there are no elevators in these locations especially for these prices, so it is hard for older people to drag the suite cases up 3 or 4 flights of stairs.
Fairly good location a short 7-8 min walk to the tours I wanted to take, dodge palace, Rialto bridge and the main cannels lots of good restaurants all within a short distance because there are no taxis on the narrow streets.

United States of AmericaIf you have a problem with stairs this is not the easiest place to get around....heavy luggage up 58 stairs is not easy.
Nice location, old building with lots of history, they had a/c in the room!

IrelandThe unnecessary amount of messages we received prior to our stay. Almost daily until we arrived to Venice!
Located a short walk from some local restaurants, a water fountain and in a quiet location (all bars shut at 11pm) we loved our stay here! The room was clean and comfortable with lots of fresh towels. The bed was very comfortable and the access into the apartment was completely self service which we loved. You are sharing the flat with others but we had a private bathroom so it was perfect for us. Thank you for a lovely stay.

UkraineThis was indicated in the description, but it just turned out that it was very inconvenient when you have to go through a common corridor to go to the toilet and shower. I emphasize that this was indicated in the description but it is just not entirely clear how it was implemented.
The room is good, with good furniture. Wonderful terrace, but shared with neighbors. Excellent location, 15-20 minutes to the main attractions. Responsive owner.

United States of AmericaI would have liked for the air condition to have been cooler. 22 degrees Celsius was the coolest the room got to and after a hot day it was not sufficient for us.
The room was spacious.

IrelandConfusing water bus services. Overpriced amenities.
The old world ambience, one of the gondola bearing canals is right beside the door. Small alley ways, so everything is a surprise, when you come to a junction.

CanadaWe would have liked to meet the owners. As it was, she was called away and could not meet us. As well, we were given the wrong code to access the key. So we could not get in. Fortunately another guest staying at the hotel was able to text her, and she then e-mailed the correct information.
Location was very convenient

United States of AmericaI was not a fan of the private bathroom down the hall. Having to sneak out at night to use restroom or in the morning to take a shower. Other rooms had thin doors, and I could hear them, but luckily had good quiet neighbors. It was up a lot of stairs. Not handicap accessible. Priceline books through booking.com and doesn't coordinate well with Booking. Make sure you use booking.com Listed as a B&B, but doesn't include the breakfast.
Location was amazing. Close to the Rialto Bridge. Short walk to St. Mark's Square. It was right in the thick of things. Lots of nearby restaurants. Price was decent compared to the rest of Venice.

United States of AmericaImpersonal: Even though I set up a time to check-in, it was all "automated" so I never met the proprietors or any staff. Shower, though typically small for EU, could be better in terms of water pressure and cleanliness. Toilet and sink were a tight fit, even with large bathroom. Free espresso machine was tricky to figure out and dispensed subpar coffee. Room had dining table and chairs but a note to not bring food into the room.
Large room with table and chairs, decent-sized closet, and nice-sized bathroom. Location near Campo Santa Maria Formosa is great...but a little loud with the foot traffic and narrow walkways (quiet at night, though so easy to sleep). Bed was very comfortable. I traveled for work so was able to get things done during my stay in the room, even though the WiFi was a little on the slow side.
