Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaOnly let down was on site restaurant wasn’t open and second option recommended by host also was closed. Other places we drove to were also closed (it was Sunday evening) and only option appeared to be parking and walking up to Siena.
Gorgeous property on hill overlooking Siena with stunning views. Took very nice winery tour and learned about its history. Super convenient to Siena city center parking area.

AustraliaWe were offered a set price barbeque style dinner which was to be served to us on the terrace. The evening was warm and balmy so it was lovely to be outside and we could enjoy the pretty lights of Siena. Unfortunately, the meal was quite disappointing. The meat served to us was very tough and unappetizing. It could have been so much better. This is our only grumble.
We liked the location which was a short distance from Siena and we could see the town from the winery. Pugna Winery has a lovely garden with a pool which we enjoyed. In the afternoon we were treated to a tour of the winery and learnt alot about the wines from Chianti. It was very quiet at night and the breakfast was delicious.

United States of AmericaWish the restaurant was open for dinner more than just the 2 nights per week - after a long day exploring the area or other regions it would have been nice to have dinner back at the castle instead of having to drive around and find something. Luckily we didn't have the need for the air conditioner - the unit needs to be cleaned you can see it is full of dust and dirt sticking to the vents in the unit. We just had the windows open and enjoyed the nice breeze. I think A?C units often get overlooked for a good cleaning every month or so.
Great location, nice clean room, nice light and view, breakfast every morning was very good - very much enjoyed the winery tour and tasting.

United States of Americait needs some attention to detail. the restaurant is only open sometimes. as others have said it frequently is closed for private events which really should be mentioned since there is nothing else around. the night we ate there the food was just so so however our waitress Jasmine was wonderful. very attentive and enthusiastic. pool could use more comfortable seating and there was only one umbrella. we did the wine tour and tasting which was informative however one table was dirty with no table cloth and the other table had a dirty table cloth on from the tasting the night before the ac in the room was not strong and could not be adjusted cooler. also staff was slow to respond on the booking app or what’s app in advance of our stay overall it’s a gorgeous location but needs some fine tuning
the views were incredible especially from the restaurant terrace ! the pool was a plus too and the property was lovely to walk around

Belgiumwhen we arrived the receptionist was as warm as a prison door. moreover, we were loaded with all our luggage, we should not count on her to wait for us by leading us to our room on the second floor or even offer to help us. Finally, one of the main reason of our reservation was the restaurant with the view : closed

United KingdomThere were some items lacking in the kitchen -- no sharp knives, only three glasses, no washing up liquid; but staff supplied these things when we asked. Reception is not staffed all the time, so it was a small challenge when managing our arrival time. After that if we needed something, there were always staff around to help, just not sitting in reception.
Stunning location on the outskirts of Siena, with views of sunsets over the town. Spacious two bedroom apartment with outside space. Beautiful grounds and swimming pool. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Opportunity for al fresco dining some nights. We loved this location.

United States of AmericaThe kitchen was rather small and oddly equipped (too many pots and pans yet only one knife). The bathroom could use some extra surfaces or hooks (bottle holders don’t work well for holding toiletries). These were relatively minor, though.
The views were amazing. Our dinner the first night was perfect, with beautiful views of the winery and the Siena. The staff was very welcoming and most accommodating

United States of AmericaBe prepared to order taxis to leave the property if you don’t have a car. It’s a bit far from anything so you’ll need to drive. The restaurant is only open limited nights so you’ll need to plan around that.

United Kingdomthe restaurant was closed both nights due to the hotel having private parties. It would have been nice if you had advance notice of this when booking, I only found out when I emailed nearer the time to book a table. It would also be nice if there was somewhere in the hotel you can buy a drink any type of drink.
the view was amazing, room was large and bed was more comfortable than it looked. The area is very quiet. parking was very easy. The tour of the winery and tasting was worth doing. Fridge in room. the staff are friendly. pick up some snacks and drinks before you get there as it isn't a nice walk to the local supermarket (Penny) there a small fridge in the rooms.

United States of AmericaThe wine tasting and tour and especially the dinner was a joke. Don't waste your time or money, go to Sienna to eat. The old underground wine cellar was basically the 'it" to see and if severely disabled, stairs are difficult. At the dinner, we were all seated at different tables so conversation was difficult and typically with wine tastings, you enjoy the new friends you make. 2 individuals showed up 1-1/2 hours late, after we had been served the 1st glass of the wine tasting (only 2 were tasted) with the first course, the charcuterie board. The host split and returned 20 minutes later as if this was normal. The couple "completed" their tour and joined the 16 of us. Our orders were given prior but the 2 "VIP's were served first and left as well as another young couple. The cook cooked 1 steak at a time and 1 waitress. We waited an hour+ to get a bottle of wine, others waited longer. Not the blame of the waitress, she was working hard. Sadly, the host left after the couple were seated and did not help with the dinner or providing the wine which is the least she could have done.. By 10:30 PM, the last steak was served. Considering this cost 152 euros. 3 hours of waiting for the "main" course upset most in the room. The VIP's were gone by 8:30 PM. I felt sorry for the family with the young daughter.
The location was beautiful, the room spacious and nice, however the picture when I booked showed villa's with windows on ground floor looking at the pool. We didn't know the rooms were 3 floors up with no elevator. If you are not disabled and we are still able to walk 3 flights but another person was severely disabled. No one was at the office to help them leave so we helped. And was very stressful for the couple, almost fell several times. However, great place to stay if you have no problems. Breakfast was good but primarily c

United KingdomStaff at reception seemed to be going through the motions, also remarked on by fellow guests. Drive through tree lined avenue looks super but heavily pot holed after the winter and spring rains. Presumably it will be soon repaired. No assistance to get luggage from car park to room, mostly gravelled areas, so hard work if you have heavy bags. Four wheeled trolley is available but could not find it. On arrival was told restaurent closed due to lunch event and closed Sunday. Turned out restaurant closed all week. Very disappointed as planned on dining with a bottle home brewed wine. General point, don't understand why Chianti wine is so pricey be it doc or docg classico, reserva, superior, nothing special about the production of these wines. Can buy cheaper in the UK!
Great location, easy access to Siena, park at San Francisco and take 5 escalators to the top. Just remember to pay for parking at escalator station before making your way back to car park. Breakfast was good but monotonous after day 2. Good sized 1 bed studio apartment, a bit dated but suited us fine. Good wifi. Superb views over Siena
