Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumThe WiFi is OK, but its stability could be improved.
Hotel Villa San Pio is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and most pleasant hotels in the world. It offers a tranquil and peaceful home in Rome, close to everything, yet far from the city bustle. You have to stay there to understand.

AustraliaThe bed was very old and you could feel the springs. It was made of 2 singles pushed together so there was the gap in the middle. Also the hot water even when fully on hot was luke warm at best.
The location was great and lovely gardens. Breakfast was a nice inclusion.

SwitzerlandSo many things to like about this place: One of the best possible locations in Rome, just outside the tourist flows, but still close enough to everything (some 10 mins on foot to Circo Massimo, and another 7 or so to the Colloseum) in a green and quiet oasis full of hidden gems (in particular various chruches and Benedictine monasteries). Clean, comfy rooms with generous balconies, and all the luxury one needs, but nothing ostentatious. Decent breakfast buffet (although it can get a bit boring over several days) with sufficient salty choice, unlike most bars in Italy which will only serve you sweet stuff for breakfast. And above all nice and helpful (and fortunately not intrusive or overly eager to please) staff whether at breakfast, cleaning or front desk (and thinking here of signore Ettore in particular).

A beautiful hotel set in a quiet area of Rome, but all sights are easily accessible. Our room was beautiful, very large with a clawfoot bath in the bathroom - much needed to soak my feet after a day walking around Rome! The hotel staff were all welcoming and helpful, and the service was very good. The restaurant serves a lovely breakfast, bar aperitives and we ate in the restaurant twice as the food and atmosphere was so nice.

SpainThe bath/shower was a little high to step into.
A very beautiful and well kept hotel. Our room had all the comforts of a large bed, sofa and desk area. The bathroom was nice too. The bar/lounge area was an area we used every evening to relax after intensive walking to and from the main city area. We had a great stay. The staff were exceptional. :)

IndiaThe first room I received had a sort of discolouration in the ceiling and no bathtub so I had to wait a night for a change of rooms as it was fully booked. The second room was great. It's up a hill - and so it's a workout if one's using public transport as the Circo Massimo Metro station (the closest) is downhill. I didn't mind that as it was Spring (March, 2024) on most days. However on the first day, I made the mistake of taking the train to Rome (from Florence) and then taking my luggage through the Metro (from Roma Termini Station to Circo Massimo Station) and dragging it uphill from Circo Massimo: this was a pain as the pavement is uneven and the wheels kept going haywire. I left to the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport on my last day via Taxi: this was a fixed fare of 50 Euros (the actual stipulated fare in Rome and arranged via the Hotel) and no hassle.
The location is in quiet Aventine Hill near the Terrazza Belvedere Aventino. The Rooms are spacious and the Breakfast is served in a very beautiful dining area. I also appreciated the bathtub and the views of the pretty neighbourhood with well maintained residences, hotels and flowering trees.

SwitzerlandThe staff member who welcomed us to our room, came with a lovely welcome tray, but spilled the drinks he was carrying. This can happen, but I was surprised he did not clear the spill up. He left promptly, leaving us with the puddle of orange juice he created in our room, to clean ourselves. The hairdryer was not good power, really did not work well. The taxi / limosine service the hotel provided from the airport was 15 EU more expensive than typical 50 euro, and was a very unpleasant experience. they were late , had to wait and phone them. they smoked, the car smelled awful, the windscreen was cracked, the car was dented and when it came to payment, insisted on cash only as their card reader was broken, and then insisted they had no change - rate was 65, I had 2 x 50's. We were told they could accept 100 if we didn't have naything smaller!! We had come from switzerland, EU is not our local currency, but luckily we travel quite often, and were able to eventually able to piece together the 15 euro in coins from pockets of our coats etc. Do not use the hotel service for taxi, book your own or use freenow app etc.
The welcome at reception was great, and the breakfast is very good with fresh fruit and a good range. The rooms were a nice temperature, and the building and decorations are great. Especially liked the outdoor eating areas and well maintained gardens with lemon trees. The area is nice and quiet, with a short walk to the city buses.
