The guy who owns it seems to dislike guests, appears to be shocker and disgruntled whenever he sees people and is making the stay sooo awkward... His wife is so much better at hospitality. Also the restaurant experience was embarrassing, staff very unprofessional. Honestly if they all went to some training in hospitality to make guests feel actually welcome, it would have been 10/10 place. Potential is there!

My husband and I went there with our daughter who is 12 yrs old. The size of the extra bed in the bedroom was a bit small.

The location is absolutely stunning. The building it's simply amazing. An old monastery which still contains many well kept features. The pool and the solarium area are the perfect place to relax and cool down in Summer.

this hotel is NOT 5.5KM as implied on every sight we looked on (Most important thing i can say is that a taxi one way from lucca was 40 euro's. as we did it twice and one at around midnight we ended up spending nearly 200 euros on taxi fares. our driver set his meter and it was over 17KM just short of 20). and is zone three ( so when you leave villa the money goes flying up instantly ( we were lucky but make sure your driver amends the meter at every zone he enters) it is nowhere near lucca itself so expect additional costs. taxi rank is immediately outside station so readily accessible but do not believe the pin and distance as the taxi fares soon add up which we found to our cost, oh, dont think about biking its an insaine incline upwards. i hope this helps somebody with their booking decisions. it really is worth the extra its gorgeous and the views are spectacular

If you are researching this hotel you will see others say that the manager is as bonkers as a box of broken buscuits... he is indeed, however, it what i call the " marmite" effect. i loved him and accepted his quirky nature, we could see clearly though that others did not. he was awfully curt with some guests!. The villa itseslf is utterly breathtaking and will not disappoint. we found lunch was lovely (and were provided for after the service closed) breakfast was mediocre. they produce their own wine and olive oil, both were excellent and very very reasonably priced. landscaping is impeccable.

Covid and the interminable Italian recession has taken its toll. Restaurant wasn't really fully open but breakfast was lovely. Great views from the dining terrace.

Fabulous infinity pool. Great location for Lucca but still very much in the Garfagnana countryside. We'll be going back.

Dinner was a little lacking as the menu was limited.

A great room and we requested a terrace and ours was excellent and we used it all the time. The swimming pool is an infinity pool and was beautiful. The property was beautifully renovated and our bathroom was excellent.

We only stayed here one day but as other reviews here suggest the level of service was not in keeping with the extremely high standard of the accommodation. The restaurant menu offered very few dishes and breakfast was limited to brioche, coffee and fruit juice. I have never experienced such a limited breakfast here in Italy and have travelled around a lot.

This restored convent offers delightful, spacious rooms with wonderful views of the sweeping Tuscan countryside. The infinity pool is spectacular and dining on the terrace really enjoyable.

I booked this hotel for my parents. While the hotel is very pushy urging you to do check-in before arrival, they fail to answer e-mails. I wrote twice to inquire about charging possibilites for electric cars and never got an answer. However, they do offer charging options for electic cars. But the price they charge for charging the car is insane. For one full charge they aksked EUR 160. This is insane and is tantamount to what I normally bay for charging during 8 months. Thus, I do not recommend going there for electric car drivers. Restaurant needs a better menue with more varieity. Atmosphere is not living up to the location. The very nice hotel lacks perfection.

Everything. Location, staff, room, pool. We had wonderful time and we will come back. The owner told us about the history of the villa and I bought some olive oil and wine from own production.
