There was barely enough room to open/put my travel bag inside the room. (unless you put it on the bed) Size is honestly the only fault, but it's to be expected. (We did not eat breakfast here so no opinion there)

Very convenient location 3 minute walk from the underground entrance to the subway and a convenient store under a minute away. The bathroom was very small but surprisingly practical.

I was in a smoking room, and I understand that it smells a bit bad. However, I wonder if they ever opened the windows. There was also a bit of dust and ashes in the ashtray.

The best part of the hotel is the position super close to Kyoto JR station, which is very useful if you need to travel the Kansai region a lot. That's all, nothing more nothing less.

The bathroom this recent stay wasn't as clean as expected, there was mold in the outside lining of the bathtub, can only be seen if you sit on the toilet and look at the bathtub from eye level.

Third time staying in this location, very close to Kyoto Station and great price. Room was a little bigger this time, so that was nice!

There were three APA Hotels close together but after the first time getting there it was easy to find. I don't think this hotel had laundry facilities in it but that would've been great to know.

As expected, rooms were tiny but the bathroom was super small, with barely sitting on the toilet in a normal position. If your over 170cm tall your legs will not be straight

Breakfast was relatively expensive and the selection was far worse than other places we stayed - no cereals, limited yoghurt, and many things were not restocked so were empty/gone, even if we arrived quite early. The bathrooms are extremely cramped for someone tall. Needs another lift - one is not enough, it takes ages to arrive sometimes.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great although directions to get there are not as clear as they could be - including a Google maps link would help. TV/movies was useful.

Pillow sheets had some stains, but there were clean. Air Conditioner unit wasn't as cold as it should've been, especially in the summer.

I couldn't mirroring my device screen on the TV which was not what I expected. But, I don't know if it didn't work because of the TV or my device so I don't judge the hotel for that. And I will stay there when I visit Kyoto again.

The walls are not totally sound proof, so I can hear other visitors entering or leaving their room. Also, I was only given a paper cup for my drinks, which was not practical if I wanted different drinks throughout the day. It would have been better if a glass or porcelain cup with a spoon was provided instead. Also, due to the design of the bathroom, it was impossible to fil the hot water kettle in the sink. One has to use the tap in the bathtub to fill up the hot water kettle.

The location of the hotel was really near Kyoto station with a convenience stall on the way between the hotel and Kyoto station. I also liked it that there was a prompt on the tv to ask if I would like to extend my check-out timing since I was still in the room nearing the check-out timing. However, the message was in Japanese and I had to guess what it meant, or try switching to English. The notification slip that my laundry was done was provided in Japanese on the first time, but subsequent notification slips were in English, so that helped too.

Only one lift that was very slow. Breakfast café was a little small, might be difficult to find a space at peak hours. Rooms might be too compact for some.

Compact rooms, but efficient usage of space - the hotel has managed to provide a more premium experience in a small business hotel setting. Bed is well sized and very comfortable. Bathroom was a small all-in-one affair but again, efficient use of space meant it had everything you needed, although slightly bigger sink would have been welcome. Breakfast was provided with a meal ticket in a small cafe in the lobby. Decent range of self-service buffet offerings which changed daily. Location was excellent, only 5 minutes walk to JR Kyoto and the bus terminal out front. Lots of restaurants in the area, although being near the station meant they filled up very quickly by late afternoon. Better to eat off peak or travel further afield.

I was on the 2nd floor and the cleaning staff were VERY noisy every morning in the hallway from around 8am of my three night stay.

It’s conveniently located a few minutes on foot from Kyoto station.

Bed was a bit hard. Also the air conditioner remote... there should be a card with English translation for the buttons!
