Everything! The hosts exceeded our expectations in many aspects, their hospitality was more than impeccable. The room was modern and fresh with very comfortable beds. Bathroom had a bathtub and there was Apple TV in the room. And of course full Japanese breakfast with more dishes you could count - absolutely an experience in itself! It was one of the best lodging experiences I have ever had and I don't say this lightly.

the rooms were a little small

The breakfast was superb and the hosts were extremely nice and hospitable. we had requested to sit in the living hall during the night for drinks and the hosts joined in and even prepared snacks for us!

Extremely accommodating and friendly owners who went out of thier way several times during our stay. Firstly, we didn't have a booking to visit the Christmas candle light up at the Karuizawa Kogen Church but they offered to give us a lift anyways to try and visit which we did and somehow managed to get in. Secondly, they insisted on fetching us after dinner which was really kind of them. Lastly, we had a two year old travelling with us and they allowed him to play with a bowling pin set in the dining area. Lastly breakfast was a huge spread and you could see the huge effort they put in the dishes and presentation.

It is far from the train station, but, there again, Tatsuno-san picked me up at 8 pm and sent me back the next morning.

I normally don’t post reviews but my host Tatsuno-san and his wife were exceptional with their hospitality. When I skipped breakfast to commence a very early morning hike, out of concern, they drove me to pick up some packed food from 7-11, and then drove me to my start point a distance away. And then there was that surprise gift when I checked out. Highly recommended especially if you want a place with nice walks around.

I could not pick a fault with our stay. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wishes to have a peaceful and well catered stay with genuine Japanese hospitality.

Our hosts were a lovely couple who took the time to make us feel extremely welcome. The care and attention to detail were beyond anything we have experienced previously. The Japanese breakfast was exquisitely presented. The building was beautiful, and the surround gardens were tranquil with lots of bird sounds. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

Even better than free pick up ,the B&B owner took us to find our luggage which was lost in the station, took us to the famous sping in the night, took us to the location restaurant to have dinner, took us to the Art Gallery , took us to the train station. The owner is a gentleman,the lady is so brilliant,sweet , lovely.No matter when you arrive at the hotel,she will always welcome your arrival. The most wonderful thing is having the breakfast.What a great day it is,delicious and beautiful food. Thank you so much!

Was a bit hard to find signs to hotel when driving there.

Hostess spoke good English and was accommodating of extra requests like luggage storage, swapping rooms. Also provided a homemade breakfast next day. The rooms were comfortable and had patio on garden side. Bathroom was spacious and clean.

Very well located for the places we wanted to visit in and around Karuizawa. The host were very hospital in a lovely Japanese way, and we had a choice of Japanese or western style breakfast. We chose the latter, since we prefer to eat Japanese style later in the day, and it was excellent! Laundry service was offered here, and it was very swift - we put our dirties out in the evening and they were done the next morning.
