Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandProblematic check-in, it was hard to get in after we arrived at night. Long registration process, which can be annoying when you are tired after traveling. Very little space in the room, luggage has to be kept under the bed to fit.
Close to the station. Good value for money. The room clean and tidy. Elegant and modern reception. Fully automatic check-in.

JapanStayed in this hotel on a night when there was a big typhoon. The power went out (understandable) past midnight and the emergency lights was on for about an hour and then there was no power until I checked out. The hotel does not have a generator system and there was also no water supply at the toilet/shower when the power went out. There was also a very high pitch sound coming from the elevator after the power went out that just stayed on. It was very difficult to sleep.
Big and clean room.

JapanThe room was suffocatingly hot. We travelled in early November, with temperatures around 23-25 during the day and 15-20 at night. The room had no air conditioning, only heat available. It was stiflingly hot and when we asked reception about the temp the only suggestion was to turn the heater fan level down. This meant no air circulaton and stagnant, dry, persistent heat. The windows were locked shut with a padlock so we couldn't even crack one open for fresh air. All three of us slept in our underwear with no blankets. The room was dirty when we arrived. We found hair on the carpet in multiple places, it kept sticking to our feet when we would walk. Did not feel good about letting my kid play on the floor at all. There were hairs on the bathroom floor that even AFTER leaving the "please clean room" sign on the door were still there when we came back - they had just been rinsed to the floor drain where they sat until we cleaned them up ourselves. Check in was annoyingly difficult. They sent a message the day before we arrived asking us to register on their webpage and upload photo id of each person staying at the hotel, which I did. Because my 3 year old is a minor his id card has no face photo and could not be accepted by the app. I had to use his mynumber card, which I didn't feel was necessary. Check in is by tablet (even though there is a receptionist they make you do it yourself), and the tablet said I had not registered or uploaded the photo IDs. I showed the receptionist my phone showing that the webpage had successfully saved the information, but because of the tablet we had to type everything in again and scan our photo IDs into the tablet and take a face video. The reception desk was not manned continuously. We only saw one lady, she arrived at 3pm for check in, but in the morning there was no one at the desk and checkout was done by dropping the keys in a box on the counter.
The location was right downtown. It was easy to walk to the station and there were many food options nearby. The price was cheap, and they had an option with two single beds pushed together to form a large bed which was nice when traveling with a small child.

JapanThe last time we stayed there, I think the Heater/ Aircon is not functioning but it’s okay because the room is still warm.
The location is great, very near in the station, convenient stores, restaurants and malls. The staffs are very kind. Actually we stayed in this hotel many times already because the price is affordable.
