How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room is on the smaller size, although it can be considered average size in Japan so it was already expected.
The location is incredible, right in the middle of Dotonbori. It was close to metro and train stations, making it very easy to access the hotel and other points of interest. The staff were great, very helpful and polite. The amenities were great as well, really nice bath salts. The room was clean. I would certainly stay there again if in Osaka.

View could of been better from room. Lots of roadworks outside Hotel caused problems entering and exiting the building.
Staff where very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast with lots of variety.

A bit small.
The location is excellent. The rooms are small but that’s expected in Osaka. It was clean and had a nice bathroom with a bathtub.

The breakfast is not varied and is not suitable for foreign tourists .
This is my fourth visit to Osaka and I only book at the Cross Hotel because it provides the most beautiful Osaka experience

Room size but that seems to be a thing in Japan!
Location fantastic, room quite small even for a upgraded room, breakfast very good. Liked optional room service each day, eg just towel change and bins emptied.

Our room allowed us access to the free lounge which provided us with charcuterie and alcohol and drinks every day. Location was exceptional could not have asked for a better stay! Would recommend for anyone and right in Dotonbori but did not impact our sleep or stay.

Very smiling staff, and the entire hotel is spotless. It is also very well located, right next to everything while insulated from the nearby crowd. The reception people were always alert and helpful. They helped us arrange our luggage transfer to our next destination.

Saturday night road was noisy outside due to revving cars and motorbikes but probably due to busy nightlife around the area.
Excellent location near local sights, Glico man sign, food and shopping . Room good size with good bathroom.

The room might be better conditioned, but that was the one and only.
Wonderful place, Doranburi just a few steps from the hotel, Namba Metro station- a few steps. Brilliant breakfast.

We loved everything about this property.
The check in/out process was extremely easy and convenient, the facility was clean and inviting with staff ready to assist with the check in process. The property was conveniently located near the heart of Dontonbori St. Transit options were convenient and just a short walk to buses or train.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was weak, so the room was sometimes really warm.
Amazing location, I would say the best location in all Osaka. It is in the middle of Dotonbori, right next to the famous display/canal site. Metro stations, many restaurants and shops, coin laundry in walking distance. The room was big and modern, the bathroom was amazing. The hotel regarded my special room request, this is why I give 10/10 despite the room was a bit too warm, thank you so much once again!
