It would have been wonderful if there were instructions in English for the many technical amenities throughout the house. It was quite cool at night and while I am sure there was heat, I had no idea how to turn it on so I had to layer up with additional clothes. Also as the bath was outside under the trees, when I got back the second night looking forward to a bath I found it was full of leaves that I had to scoop out myself. I would’ve expected for the price that they would’ve come in and scooped out the leaves. Also, they did not replenish coffee or tea from one day to the next.

The bungalow was even better than the photos depicted. It was big and luxurious with all sorts of unexpected amenities (complimentary liquor, fantastic skin products. I LOVED the outdoor bath). The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely gorgeous self contained villa. Comfortable bed, good shower, lovely outdoor bath. Well stocked self service bar. Simple check in at the ryokan down the hill - friendly service, a great dinner and a good breakfast. Just lovely. I would love to stay here for a week or more.

We were greeted and shown around by a lovely lady, and a deer welcomed us by the front door. The place was very cozy and clean. After climbing Mt. Misen, it was wonderful to relax in the outdoor bath.

The price is high, even by Japan standards. For us it was a splurge, but well worth it!

The location is very quiet, even during the day, and you can feel nicely secluded in the woods above the streets. The open-air onsen (hot tub) was small but hot and plenty big for a couple (unless you’re very tall) - during the chilly night it was absolutely delightful. Check-in was easy and the host really playful and sweet. We paid for the Japanese breakfast and it was fabulous, served at the host’s nearby hotel.

We lacked some basic kitchen items like bowls and utensils. We struggled to understand the bath heating instructions; please provide an English translation.

Space, peace and quiet in an immaculately kept house. Friendly host near by who cooked us a beautiful meal. Lovely outside bath. Beautifully clean property.

The bathroom and bath towels had a bit of a damp smell.

A large villa in a quiet location only a few minutes away from the main shopping street. It is big enough for a family with good amenities. We were hosted by a lovely and witty lady who made us laugh. They provided plenty of tea, coffee, soft drinks, alcohol and snacks for free. Dunking in an outdoor onsen was a bonus at the end of the day.

The private villa is situated in a peaceful spot just outside the main tourist pull of Miyajima. The building has been very well renovated and brought up to modern standards all within traditional Japanese design and architecture. The interior of the home is well distributed, bright and fresh. The layout has been well considered and there is a large amount of space inside. The bathroom and external plunge pool were a life saver during the extremely hot (37 deg c) August when visiting. The plunge pool is located in a small, well lit, private enclosure with views of the large Acer trees above. The villa has a bar, a stocked fridge of drinks, ice and various teas and coffees.

The refrigerator was a little noisy at night, but perhaps I should have closed the door.

It was a very spacious and splendidly furnished vacation home. There was nothing else I could have wished for. They even provided free drinks in the apartment. In fact it was much more than what I needed, but when I booked, there were not so many options left. Also, it did not exactly fall into the cheap category, but it also offers a very high quality stay on a very beautiful island.

I’m rather tall (6’) and had to duck through most doorways, but that’s is really the only MINOR thing I didn’t care for, everything else is fantastic!

The home is in what I consider one of the most beautiful places in the world. The hosts also have incredible sense of hospitality and genuinely want to make sure you’re having The best time there. It’s beautiful, location is incredible, and I couldn’t stop smiling upon arrival!

Our experience was good, but it was way to expensive for what it was. We payed more than 500 eur per night and we were expecting a high quality hotel and service, but what we got was a "nice" bed and breakfast. There was no onsen, we had a pseudo-basin but the water was not hot, it was warm. It wasn't a bad experience, but given the price (and compared to the quality and price of what we had elsewhere in Japan) we felt a bit tricked.

The breakfast and dinner were very delicious and the host team was very kind.
