Perfect position, Japanese style ryokan and staff super!

Not many cooking tools and seasoning in the kitchen , didn’t see people cooking here. It was little bit expensive for the dorm.

Clean and nice Japanese style hostel, few spaces for chill, sit down and eating. Super good location and quiet at night. Stayed in the dorm sometimes people in the room were noisy but most of the time it was ok.

Mediocre value considering the small and basic room. Sounds from adjoining rooms and hallways can be heard very well.

Incredibly clean. Very friendly staff. Nice location. The common areas are nice. Board games are available on the 3rd floor.

Wonderful location - you can easily walk to Gion, Kiyomizu-dera and etc. There is a separated Kitchen & Washing Machine, and ryokan room size is bigger than average hotel room in Japan

The location was amazing!! A few minutes walk away from a huge temple with street food, main Gion streets, and close enough to a station. The area is quiet and safe as well. The staff was always sure to make our stay as comfortable as possible and accommodated all our needs.

Mattresses could be a bit thicker since you are sleeping on the floor. Still they were confortable.

The location is excellent - right in the middle of Gion. Easy to explore the area by foot. And not too far from bus stops that can take you into other areas of Kyoto. The rooms are lovely, with the Ryokan feeling, and employees were friendly and spoke English.

Would've been great if conditioner was provided in the showers too!

Fantastic, traditional styled stay in Gion. Was super easy for me to go anywhere in Kyoto. Facilities were clean, even in all the shared areas. The 'capsules' were bigger than expected - I had enough space to fit my luggage next to my bed. The futon-styled beds were comfortable too. Staff were all very helpful and friendly, and can speak excellent English. The other guests were quiet and respectful which was great too.

WiFi got cut down on the last day. Also, wasn’t the most social hostel with other travellers.

Beautiful house in a great location. Super equipped kitchen and lots of space (even in the bed in the dorm). Nice stuff and well organised. I had a great and relaxing stay. I'll be back.

The location next to the Gion neighbourhood allowed to have very early morning walks before the crowd appeared. It made the discovery of the various temples and shrines very peaceful. The staff was very nice and the Ryokan very agreable.

No breakfast service, you can make your own as you can use the kitchen. It's cold room Shower last 30 seconds when press button. Other guests blocked the bathroom and made a mess after service hours. Shared cloth towel not very hygienic after washing hands.

Location is great in Gyon.

It will be great if for the futon will be double mattress. I had one and was really thin so I did not slept properly. Also I got only one towel as starter. More comfortable will be recive also for face or hair small towel. I wasn't prepare for that.

The dormitorum was really clean unfortunately was hard to say about kitchen. But I understand that was guests fault than personel. Personel very friendly and helpful. It was pleasure to discuss with them. Accommodation was beautiful (real ryokan) and the garden something amazing. 😍

The heating in the upstairs common room and the shower area could be turned up a little during winter.

You can’t beat this location, almost on the shopping streets leading up to Kiyomizu-dera! Plus, I’ve never slept in a capsule more spacious than this.

I liked the traditional style of the ryokan; it was a unique cultural experience. I also enjoyed how clean and quiet the facilities were.

Maybe some more shoe closets would have been nice as they were getting full.

The room is spacious and has comfy beds. Our room had a nice view of an outdoor garden as well. Shared bathrooms and toilet facilities were clean and fine too. Great location.
