Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The door requires an actual key. We forgot it in the room one morning while rushing but the staff were kind enough to sort it out for us.
The hotel is located close to the station and the room was much larger than the hotel we’d booked in Tokyo.

Breakfast was ok, but choice was limited. Rooms were small. The air con in one of our rooms didn't work.
Convenient location for bus routes, staff were lovely. Good to have a laundry.

The corridor is quite dark. Room lighting also can be improved.
Many restaurants nearby. Pokemon center just around the corner. There are two supermarkets opposite the hotel.

It has small rooms and the breakfast was different and not at all American style.
This place was clean and quiet and very reasonably priced. It was near the market place and there was easy access to taxis around the corner by the family market. The room to get is the Deluxe room with 3 beds. It is roomy compared to the other rooms.

We selected one small room. The room size is okay, but the bed was a bit too small for me and my sister. We're both petite, and it still feels like we don't have room to move around much. So, you might have to select a bigger room size for a comfortable sleep.
It is not far from a train station. Convenient stores nearby. There's even a supermarket right across the road. You can store your luggage there if you arrive before check-in time. The check-in is quick and easy. Staff were friendly. If it rains, they have umbrellas that you can borrow.

It is a slightly older property so the facilities aren’t up to date but that was most likely why it was such a good deal.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a nice sized bath. The laundry was easily accessible and breakfast in the morning was tasty and nutritious.

The default is not to clean the rooms every day. While new towels are provided, bath mats are not - one has to go all the way to the reception to ask for a bath mat. It is a hotel, so making the beds every day and changing the sheets at least every alternate day will be appreciated. We should not have to pay extra for this. Also, there should be a smoking zone somewhere in or outside the hotel building.
The location is excellent - there are many restaurants, convenience stores, and a supermarket nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the bed is comfortable.

The room was not as clean as I would have expected when I first arrived. There was hair on the floor and in the bathtub, and there was what appeared to be a spot of urine on the floor in the bathroom near the toilet.
All staff were extremely helpful and professional. Breakfast services and offerings were wonderful. The location was perfect for easy access to everything I needed.

Room felt a bit more cramped than other hotels of similar style and price.
Bed was comfortable, though the room was a bit smaller than the other hotel I stayed at in the area but still not bad for the price! There’s a FamilyMart one block down and a large grocery store across the street and a 7/11 two blocks further. There’s also a few restaurants and coffee shops near. Quick bus ride into the more touristy and exciting parts of Kyoto but far enough away to escape the crowds and noise. Staff was nice and helpful! Overall would stay again!

AC is centralized and was too hot for me.
