Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaGreat location and easy walk to access underground passages of Ikebukuro station. The staff provided an excellent explanation of the hotel facilities and processes, and even allowed check in when I arrived about 2.40PM. Single room is perfect size for a solo traveller and everything was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomIt's great that there's a washing machine but there's not much room for you to dry your clothes! The washing machine has an in-built dryer but I have a lot of delicate clothes that can't be tumble dried. But I made do by draping it around various things in the room and with the aircon on it dried throughout the day with no problems. You just need to be a bit creative with how you dry your clothes! The area while close to the station, is unfortunately in a nightlife area so it can be loud and for those that aren't used to these kind of areas, can be a bit scary! I'm OK and just walk quickly so people don't even get a chance to talk to me, but just be a little on guard if you're walking around at 11pm-3am! I was out this late as there's a 24hr Don Quixote nearby lol. Unfortunately this hotel does not do airport luggage service, but I worked out it works out to be roughly the same with 2 suitcases to just take a taxi so in the end if was fine.
Honestly I love this hotel and I would stay here again happily! The location is great, 10min walk from Ikebukuro station which meant I was easy access to a lot of things but also I really enjoy shopping and eating out at Ikebukuro in general so if I didn't feel like travelling I was already in a good location. It is on the West side of Ikebukuro so it was a 15min walk to the East side where Sunshine City and all the entertainment shops are. There's a washing machine in your bathroom which was the main reason why I booked this hotel, because it's towards the end of my trip and I definitely wanted to do some laundry! It's free to use and you can buy detergent for cheap at the reception. They have English translation of how the washing machine works and I was a bit confused at first but eventually realised what I had to do and it's pretty straightforward. Bed is comfy, clean room and bathroom. VERY spacious bathroom, even with a little sit down bit in the shower. No bath but that's OK with me. BTW I really recommend you to try the unagi restaurant right next to the hotel, it's really good :)

United KingdomOnly minor, there is no parking on site - parking is available nearby at one of the small lots but there’s only room for 5 or 6 cars at each lot and they’re fairly expensive.
The location is great, an entrance to Ikebukuro station is on the main road less than a minute outside the hotel. I like the area to the west of this station as it’s quiet yet only a short walk to the busy side of Ikebukuro and a short train journey from the main hubs. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are decent and include good facilities such as a microwave, fridge, and washer/dryer.

United States of AmericaThe room was surprisingly a bit shabby and dusty and I actually cut my foot on some glass that was on the carpet (as a North American I was not accustomed to wearing the slippers but definitely put them on after that). Though I shouldn't complain about the smell too much (since they kindly moved me to a non-smoking room) the non-smoking room smelled like it used to be a smoking room (or maybe was just next door to a smoking room?) Most disappointing was there was only a Japanese breakfast which I was unable to eat due to allergies. The photos with the beautiful buffet was entirely misleading as I inferred that they only have this available at certain times of the year (despite that it was August and tourist season). So if you are booking because of the "free breakfast" maybe think twice.
Location was great. Room was a decent size and bed was very firm but for someone who normally likes a very soft bed I found it comfortable. Great shower pressure too! Customer service was wonderful as I had accidentally reserved a non-smoking room but they moved me upon request.

JapanWalking towards the hotel at night was a little scary as a solo woman traveller as it was close to the nightlife area, but at the price and location, I was able to overlook it.
It was a 7 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station so it was a convenient location. It was easy to check in and the staff were very nice. I requested an iron and it was kindly lent to me, although I had to go down to reception to get it myself. I really love how there was a washer-dryer in the room! Staying in Japan during the summer means sweaty clothes that I really want to wash straight away when I’m back at the hotel so I don’t have dirty laundry in my luggage. The room itself was really comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious and clean.

United States of AmericaTwo people were staying in the room but there was only one chair. There was no place to put our suitcases. I wanted to hang up laundry in the wind from the air conditioner, but there was no place to hang a hanger.
Staff were helpful and the location was convenient. It was very clean and safe. I liked being able to get a ponytail holder if I needed one. It was very close to the train station.
