Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI think I would have liked them to vacuum my room once a week
The location was ideal, 5 minutes from the train station and in a quiet area.

ItalyNo real issues, but there were a few things that could be improved. The kitchenette was useful but I wish it was a bit more stocked. For example a pan, even as a rental item, would have been nice. There was a huge tv but it only had a pay-by-day system, it would have been nice if you had the chance to connect your own streaming accounts or youtube to it. Finally, it also would have been cute to have a chair and a little table on the balcony!
The location was perfect. Yutenji itself is quite nice if you like chill neighbourhoods with cool local spots, but the hotel was also 3 minutes away from the train station, which can get you to Shibuya in 10 minutes for example (and most places in less than 30). The room was decently sized and it had a nice balcony where I could tests the weather before getting out. Bed was quite comfortable (on the firmer side) and with a choice of pillows. Very glad to have had a humidifier in the room! I picked this hotel for the kitchenette and the washer/dryer included in the room and both worked great and were very convenient to have during a long stay. Loved the clear instructions in english on how to use the washer.

New ZealandI didn't notice it had a kitchenette when booking, so was actually a nice suprise, although it didn't have any tablespoons, bowls or many utensils. It pretty much had 1 small plate, a pot with lid (not pan), 1 fork, a blunt knife, and thin chopping board (from memory), had washing up liquid and sponge which was good. Still appreciated it though. The room was only slightly noisy from the street noise when people walked by talking loudly, but not a big deal at all. Would book again.
Room was nice and big, a comfortable seating area, and it had a kitchenette. Laundry was the main reason for booking, but really enjoyed this little neighbourhood - has a really good supermarket under the station. Room was a little more worn than expected, but it was fine (like appliances and things a bit beaten up or old).

NetherlandsWe also stayed in the tatami room, which was a little cramped with three of us staying there. I would opt for booking two double rooms next time. The shower curtain was annoying as it kept sticking to my body as I tried to take a shower. The bathroom was also way too small for 3 people (I would have expected it to be a little larger).
The double rooms were small but well-furnished (not too many unnecessary things cluttering the room!), and the fact that there was a washing machine in the room was ideal! We used it a couple of times during our stay. The staff was helpful. The location was also perfect for us, as we were visiting family in Yutenji. Yutenji itself is a quaint little place with a lot of surprisingly good restaurants within walking distance (Allegra, Not a Pizza, Yutenji Bob, to name a few). And it's super easy to get to Shibuya or Nakameguro.

United States of AmericaSimple but very nice hotel in great location. A bit noisy due to some construction in the area. Bathroom smelled a bit musty but the room was otherwise very clean. Loved the little kitchenette and washing machine/dryer in the room.

CanadaThe hallway on our floor smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Fortunately, the room did not have this smell. Other than that, no complaints.
Nice location in Yutenji, especially if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of Tokyo. Nice that room had a kitchen area, complete with a microwave and a cutting board and knife. Staff were helpful and friendly and the coffee maker in the lobby was also a nice bonus.

GermanyThe room was clean, but changing the carpet floor for something less prone to permanent stains might be a good idea.
The location was really good, very close to Yutenji station or a short walk from Naka Meguro in a quiet area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And having a washing machine was very handy.

CanadaOur family made reservations long in advance for five rooms in different yet important configurations (double, twin, etc). The Tokyu Stay Hotel made errors with three of five rooms, and are unable and/or unwilling to correct their error in the slightest.
Location in Yutenji and location relative to Shibuya.

AustraliaAll good. Given there is an induction cook top/ fridge, a couple more kitchen items would be good (ie bowl, spoon, frypan, tea towel)
Inexpensive hotel in quiet neighbourhood a few minutes walk from Yutenji station. Great supermarket next to the station. Walking distance to Naka Meguro and 3 stops from Shibuya. Nice to have a small area to prepare food. Coffee machine and books on ground floor. Friendly staff who helped us with a couple of taxi bookings. Would be very happy to stay again.

United States of AmericaHonestly no bad marks, it was solid overall.
Super well located for the price point. It’s just a 20 minute subway ride to Shibuya, 30 minutes to Harajuku or Shinokitazawa, and close to other neighborhoods of interest. The neighborhood the hotel is in is quiet so it’s a nice retreat after a night out in a busier neighborhood. Outside of this, the major thing we loved about this property is the space and amenities in the room. Other places we stayed in Tokyo for a similar price were much smaller. This room was pretty big for Tokyo and Kyoto standards and had a kitchen, washer/dryer, microwave, etc. We felt very comfortable in this space.

United States of AmericaNothing really. Given there is a washing machine and I imagine many guests do wash their clothes, I wish there was a rack to dry clothes on the balcony or in the room. This is not a complaint, but it was interesting that reception staff was sometimes behind an curtain. However, when I needed them they were always courteous and helpful. I am thankful they were patient with having foreigners stay there (I do speak Japanese, however).
Loved that the room featured a kitchenette (with refrigerator), and washing machine. The hotel was a quick walk to Yutenji station - very convenient to transportation and to local grocery, convenience, and pharmacy stores. The Yutenji area is so pleasant.

AustraliaThe hotel has a housekeeping on demand system . It wasn’t very satisfactory though the staff were very willing to provide new towels etc when asked. We found the in-room washing/drying machine impossible to use. The directions were in Japanese and the hotel staff didn’t seem to know how to use it either. We ended up with very wet clothes and very few places to dry them.
We really like to stay in Yutenji - a quiet suburb of Tokyo - just a couple of stops from Shibuya. We found some very interesting cafes and restaurants including a whole food one and a ‘French’ one - PedibuThe room provided options for some self catering with an induction hot plate, sink, fridge and some crockery and utensils. There are supermarkets near the station 5 minutes walk away. We had a small room with a balcony. The staff were very helpful, always obliging and willing to help as we needed - (safe locking us out, washing machine impossible to work intuitively , a blanket instead of the duvet which we used on top of the hard mattress).
