authentic Japanese stay and accommodation. we even nuded up and embraced the onsen culture. naked in a hot outdoor onsen while catching snow flakes was quite surreal.

The property is a bit dated, but not an issue at all.

Great service attitude by all staff. The hotel’s ski shop offers very reasonable rental packages for good-quality ski equipments. Well located close to major ski slopes, the train station, and restaurants. Good buffet breakfast with a variety of food selection. Large onsen facilities. Clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable stay indeed.

The staff members are very friendly and helpful. They arrange transport to pick us up from station after dinner. Outdoor garden onsen was heavenly on a snowy night. Unforgettable serenity.

The restaurant stated it was open until 9pm but when we arrived to eat at 830pm they refused to seat us.

The room was a little spooky especially the storage area by the bathroom. My husband said he saw something red floating. Recommend you don't watch scary movies before going to this hotel because that closet was a little scary.

I liked the location, breakfast and how easy it was to use the blackcat service, check in and check-out. It's very convenient that it was near the shinkansen and a 7-11. We had extra futons which allowed us to make the beds thicker and more comfy for the three of us.

Good value. Staff very helpful and nice. The public onsen in hotel was spacious and nice. Rooms are simple and clean. We stayed in the Japanese tatami room. Shuttle to Gala Yuzawa Ski resort stops in front of hotel. Line up early as the shuttle can fill up fast.

I wasn't aware of their free shuttle so we walked from the station to the hotel (only about 600 meters but it was uphill!) It'll be nice if I receive a message from them beforehand about their free shuttle.

Our room is Japanese style and it was spacious with a nice view of the mountains and the shinkansen line. They also have a free shuttle running from Echigo Yuzawa Station to the hotel (this is very convenient). The buffet breakfast was also very nice.

The only thing I hated was getting out of bed. The beds were the futon style beds on the floor and I just had knee surgery in March so getting up from the floor was so difficult. I enjoyed everything else about this hotel

Breakfast was a typical Japanese breakfast. We enjoyed the variety of choices whether we wanted a danish, eggs or japanese style breakfast.

The Japanese room was pretty old, but clean. I was glad I didn’t need the heater because it was so old that I’m not sure I would know how to use it. The safe was also old. There was definitely some noise from the outside parking lot. The hotel is not far from the station but the last part is up a considerable hill and might be challenging with luggage. The lighting in the en suite bathroom is pretty harsh.

The hotel met expectations. The room and bathrooms (private, en suite to the Japanese style rooms) were clean and spacious. The best part was onsen and also discovering that there was a laundry machine available when the listing did not say they there was laundry available. It’s also fairly cheap and you have to pay for detergent (30 yen). There is a van that can take you to and from the station. There seems to be a lot of activities available in the hotel: games, karaoke, massage chairs, and onsen. Seems like it might be better during the winter than other seasons.
