Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

This was the second time we stayed here. We loved the fact that we could get an early breakfast because of our flight out. The owners even made a special breakfast for one of us because of a gluten and lactose allergy. The second stay was just as good as the first one. Loved the bed and the pool of course!

A very nice home to stay in, with welcoming and friendly owners. Everything was there that we needed and it is only a short walk to restaurants and the beach. It feels like home!

Difficult to adjust the AC in our two bedrooms appartement so it was either super cold with it or quite hot without it :)
Very nice location in Negombo. Great place to stay when you land or before you leave the country. Magdalin, our host, was super nice and helpful. The swimming pool is a big plus !

Great family run hotel walking distance to the centre of Negombo! Pool was a great added bonus when the heat got too much. Perfect for a backpackers stop off before heading to the next town. Staff/family were very helpful and arrange pickup from airport and drop off to next town. Would recommend to a friend for sure!!

very helpful with the minor vagaries of travel i.e. forgotten charging cable or difficulty accessing drivers. In the end a family member took me to my destination 2 hours away.

Nothing! All good, but if you’re looking for luxury and special amenities, this is not it.
This is a very basic, no frills property but is close to the beach, has AC and friendly staff. The husband and wife team live in the attached house and a very nice breakfast is included in the price. Magdelin the host also helped arrange a 2 am airport pick up for us and greeted us when we arrived at 3 am! She was also willing to store a couple of bags for 2 weeks while we toured Sri Lanka. The upper units have balconies overlooking a small swimming pool and garden.

There was noise that distubed our sleep; some ladies used the pool very later, after closing time, other guests very loud in the breakfast area next to our room, also some noise came in from the road next to the hotel. Pool water did not look very clear and there were quite a bit sand in the pool too.
We stayed in the family room, which was really large; two bedrooms and a living room with kitchen corner. It was right next to the nice pool. Hosts were super nice and made delicious breakfast. Restaurants and beach within walking distance.

It would have been a nice to have a kettle in the room but Mal was really happy to provide hot water when we needed it . 😊
The staff ... Mal in particular 🥰 … were wonderful and really accommodating. Ask and you shall be given accompanied by a lovely smile! We were right by the beach but were able to use the grounds of the accommodation away from the busier part of the beach, which was nice and Mal offered tips and any assistance we required.. We felt very well looked after and any problem was very quickly dealt with. Highly recommended

The pool is located just next to the road and there is not so much space in the garden.
It was really clean and comfortable. Personel was really helpful and nice, they arranged the airport pick up for us, which was really practical. Also good breakfast was included in price.

What a sweet little spot close to the beach & not far from the airport. Well-taken care of, charming family takes care of you, starting with bountiful breakfast and helpful advice. Pool is nice touch. Very clean & comfortable, good AC. The common area terrace on top level is a breezy oasis worth checking out.

Our room was a bit disappointing - ground floor with a window which looked onto a wall. The upstairs rooms looked lovely, so better to request those.

On check in, would have liked an explanation of how you needed to turn on the hot water on the tank for the shower.
Excellent homemade breakfast, promptly met at gate even though it was 2am, very large and clean room.
