I would suggest the beach restaurant doesn’t play music, it would be more peaceful.

Amazing room right on the beach and nearby great lunch and dinner spots. Staff very attentive and go beyond to help you and look after you. Restaurant attached to hotel has very delicious fresh fish too. Some of the best food we have had

The rooms are just next to the beach. Beach is very clean and crystal clear water. Though the rooms are small in size, they were equipped with all the necessities., including mini bar and tea/coffee maker. Breakfast was super. Dinner was served a la carte and was very quick and fulfilled all our different food requests without any hesitation. The staff were very friendly, always ready to help with heartiest smiles on their faces.

the staff are all so friendly and helpful to name a few Tom, kithmi, Tilline and many more we don’t know their names. they made our stay pleasant and a wonderful. always smiling and greeting everyone. restaurant is also fantastic esp the seafood.

The room was quite noisy, because it doesn't have insulation. There is a window on top of the door which makes impossible blackout in the night. The walls should be repainted because they have some stains.

Big and stylish room, bathroom has walk-in shower, which is quite rare for Sri Lanka. The hotel looks like a colonial old house, which gives a lot of charm. lt's located on the beach and close to all shops and restaurants. Room cleaned every day, free water provided daily.

Breakfast was average. If you want traditional breakfast you must order in advance. Also, at night plays loud music which can be heard in the rooms. We were lucky that we didn't get the room that's directly facing the beach where the music was coming from.

Beachfront, pleasant and accommodating staff, very clean and nicely decorated rooms. They offer free access and transport to a nice pool in their exclusive sister hotel. Surrounded by many eating options and stores.

Pool in sister property isn’t the best.

Right on the beach front, great beach restaurant attached. Nice room decor, good wifi and aircon. Good to be able to use sister properties for free with shuttle. Food is great. Seafood platter in sister hotel was amazing!

The room was clean but smelling mold. Also the sealing had some visible signs of mold. Fun fact: be prepared to hear everything , even the farts from the other rooms ;)

The location at the beach was great. The bathroom was newly renovated but the room had mold and smell wasn’t so pleasant. One night ok.

Shower could be better as the pressure was not that great, especially when you come from the beach.

The staff are always great at Thaproban beach hotel, its the reason why i will always choose to stay here, the food is great and they will always go out of their way to make you enjoy your meal

A real beach house as you imagine. We had some wonderful days in the off-season. The hotel ist directly at the beach, the staff super friendly. And we even got a free upgrade of our room. Absolutely a recommendation at Unawatuna beach.

The pictures seem to have been taken a long time ago so the room and bathroom is looking a little tired and needs to be freshened up quite a bit. Also above the door is a window to the corridor so at night it lets light into the room.

The location was perfect. Right on the beach and the quiet street (not main road) where all the restaurants and bars were. we stayed in the penthouse which has a split level where the boys slept upstairs and we slept in the main part. The balcony was amazing to have. The staff were all so friendly and the resident stray dogs which have been adopted by them are lovely too. If you come to Sri Lanka you need to understand there are stray dogs everywhere so you can’t moan that they come in the seating areas. The food in the Resturant was really good and I was also impressed with the breakfast. You certainly won’t go hungry! I didn’t realise when booking it but they have 2 other hotels with pools so you can be taken there if you want too which is great.

the shower pressure was poor and not very warm. there was a funny smell at times in the communal hallways. they were doing maintenance/improvement works in the reception area

our room - we had the penthouse room and it was super. lovely view out over the beach/sea, comfortable bed and spacious.

Very good accommodation, specially the service. The location is just perfect! having the breakfast on the beach was incredible. Good food, during our check in they mention that would have a party next door and they arrange a room in another hotel for us to sleep due to the noise.
