Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI would say to provide guests with coffee/tea facilities would be very helpful — in the evening Ludza is dead, so there is nothing to do except staying in the room… And to have simple home shoes would be nice…
The location is the best — on the central square of Ludza, close to all few attractions of this tiny town

FinlandBad smell from WC&Bathroom. The room locates on the top floor (mansard), all windows are on the ceiling.
We'd booked the room just an hour before arrival, but when we came to the hotel we were informed that this was a booking mistake about availability. In fact all rooms of this type have been busy already. Nevertheless the lady on reception provided a free Lux room for us for the same money, that was really great. Good location for the hotel, almost in the city center. Lots of parking places just in front of the main entry.

DenmarkYou can always find something to point out, but as long as you don't expect a 5 star hotel, you'll be satisfied with your stay. However, if you're a light sleeper, you may be disturbed by the noise from other rooms due to the walls being very thin.
The staff is very kind and helpful, and the breakfast served in the cellar is very good but definitely not for vegetarians/vegans. The location of the hotel is also great, if you enjoy some quiet time in a town full of helpful people. You can even find some excellent pizzas in the city, and should you need it, the pharmacy is only a few meters away from the hotel. Overall, this is the perfect place, if you're just passing through and need a comfortable place to stay, or if you would like to see a small but beautiful city. Even the nearby park is taken care of, and my visit included the smell of freshly cut grass.

IrelandMorning receptionist was not pleasant, no shampoo, but not a big deal considering the lovely hotel and location
Great location in a beautiful town. My family fled Ukraine war via Latvia, and stayed here for a night, it was a lovely break from the events. The night staff on their arrival and the receptionist were absolutely delightful, friendly and happy to feed them despite the late arrival, morning receptionist, unfortunately, not so pleasant. Lovely place altogether, just bring your own toiletries.

SwedenLucia was the only choice in Ludza, but a good choice. Simple, good value for money, central location. I think the hotel’s cafe was the only working eatery during corona times.

Convenient location in the heart of the Ludza city, close to all major sightseeing. Friendly and helpful staff. Great cleanliness. The hotel has its own restaurant, delicious food. We travel with the dog, everyone remains very friendly. Everyone was very kind, we will go to this hotel again! I recommend if you go to Ludza, stay at this hotel.

United States of AmericaThere was no air conditioner so the room was very hot. But I got a corner room with a nice view of the church. The bathroom shower has mold in the corners. The towels were very thin. The refrigerator was not plugged in and smelled moldy.
The receptionist was a very nice lady. The waitresses in the restaurant was very professional and spoke good English. The breakfast was simple but good.

Latvia1) Two beds that were ordered as separate were covered with a single sheet and blanket; 2) Shower room was screechy and wobbly, showing wear and tear everywhere; 3) The room had seen better times; 4) Visibly incorrect plumbing job, indicating low construction/restauration quality of the otherwise fundamentally solid building; 5) Hotel has management problems with their kitchen. A lot of people had to wait more than 15min for their breakfast to be served, not even taking into account the fact the breakfast times were pre-scheduled in the evening due to "really big congestion".
Personnel were kind and helpful. Very good placement within city. Practically at the center. Nice views out of the window.

UkraineMy parents got kicked out of this hotel iven without checkout in the midle of the night. And the second time they returned, the woman at the reception made claims with bad words to them. They traveled 1,500 km from their hometown because of the war. They were not going to live for free or so, but were going to pay money? They just wanted to have a rest in age 65. The worst attitude towards people that I have ever met in the European Union. I could understand if I met this on the territory of the former USSR. But come on guys.
