Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere was nothing we did not like about this property!
We liked everything about this property! It was a beautiful old hotel, decor was exquisite. A king bed in a beautiful room on the third floor.

United States of AmericaThere were only a few guests and this made the place feel a bit lonely. I want to emphasize how lovely the staff was and how they went out of their way to be warm and welcoming. Also, there were a few minor maintenance issues. It's also important to keep in mind that both the riad and the whole area have A LOT of stairs and you will be walking up and down stairs on uneven cobblestones. This is part of the charm, but it can be very tiring. Also, many other reviewers praised the wonderful breakfast, but I found it very lacking. It was just several types of bread and spreads.
Noura and her staff were amazing and kind and tried their best to make us comfortable. The Riad is well located at the top of the Casbah. It is a beautiful hotel and felt very authentic.

United KingdomQuite a long walk from the square which is as close as a taxi can take you. You need to ensure that a member of staff can meet your taxi to help with luggage and finding your way.
Located in the Kasbah this is a great location from which to enjoy views towards the Atlantic or explore the old city. Poor weather meant the roof terrace was not available so carefully prepared meal we had on our first evening was served in a room off the lobby and a little cramped but nothing lacking in terms of our enjoyment or the kindness of the staff. There are also a couple of very good restaurants very close by.

AustriaRoom a bit stuffy and aircon seemingly not working, though in fairness we did not raise this with Noura at the time. And while certainly not a criticism of the hotel, be aware that if arriving by car, parking, locating the hotel, and hauling luggage are issues. It's in the medina after all......
A great location in the medina, near the kasbah, once you have located the hotel. Very nice welcome and help with directions from Noura, and really great help with luggage through the medina from bellman Abedlah. Comfy and reasonably-sized room in this extremely tastefully-restored dar/riad. Excellent breakfast.

United States of AmericaThe stairs!!! Not the hotel, but the whole area we stayed in. But the good news is we are stronger than ever and our steps on our phone went through the roof.
We just finished a stay at a Riad in Marrakech and really liked it, but it doesn’t compare to Dar Cham. It was simply perfect in every way. We are actually checking out this morning but couldn’t wait to give this review. And this from someone who never gives reviews. Without question the best service we have ever received anywhere. And it all starts with the manager, Nora. She was amazing. From choosing her own favorite taxi driver, who came to know us and felt like family to recommending best restaurants and activities. But I think the best part of Nora was how she attended to every detail to make our stay stress free. I know reviews can vary dramatically and this one is over the top, but trust me, you will love this place and Nora too. Thank you so much, Jeff

Dar Chams Tanja was beautiful, spacious and clean. All of the staff was friendly and attentive but Noura, the manager was outstanding. She was professional and helpful providing excellent service including arranging for transportation to and from the riad, recommendations for restaurants and authentic shopping and arranging for a private tour guide for Tangier and Asilah. Our guide, Hamza, was friendly and knowledgeable and accommodated us in every way providing 2 excellent days of sightseeing. Noura was always available during our stay and had numerous communications with me prior to our arrival. She was always checking in to make sure all was going well and answer any questions. The breakfasts and dinners were wonderful and especially enjoyable on the rooftop terrace that provided a beautiful view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dar Chams Tanja and would definitely stay there again.

CanadaThe architecture of the renovated hotel made for a very lovely ambiance. The numerous lobby seating areas were well thought out and presented seating options of comfort and semi-privacy. The rooms were very large and the linens were luxurious. The rooftop dining area affords a lovely view of the city and the couscous dinner was absolutely superb (with option of wine with dinner) and the portion was huge! All the staff we encountered were very professional and caring and attentive to details. This is definitely one of the most welcoming places we have stayed at.

United States of AmericaA minor thing, but the hotel keeps the front door locked, which was certainly appreciated from a security point of view but it requires you to knock to get in. That was never a problem (there was always someone there to answer the door), but it might have been more convenient if they just gave all of the guests a key so that we didn't have to disturb anyone by knocking. Once again, it was a minor thing, but just a suggestion.
Our stay at the Dar Chams Tanja was outstanding. The hotel was a lovely blend of authentic flavor and modern amenities. The rooms were nice and an excellent breakfast was included in the price. The location was excellent, right in the heart of the Old Medina. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In particular the hotel manager Nora went out of her way to coordinate every aspect of our stay, both before we arrived and once we were there. Nora's communication was excellent and all of the things (food, touring and logistics) that she coordinated for us excellent as well. Nora arranged a walking tour of the Old Medina area for us with a local guide, Hamza. Hamza was great - very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We liked Hamza so much that we asked for him for a second day to accompany us to Asilah (which was a great trip, by the way). We would highly recommend Hamza if you can book him as well.

China1) Provide clear guidance on how to find the hotel especially for those guests who drive the car as the Google navigation would mislead you to a public parking area which is still far away from the hotel. 2) Allow the kid to check in with parents free of charge if no extra bed is required.

United States of AmericaWe struggled with the air conditioning and getting the room cool in the late afternoon. The room cooled down nicely by sunset and we slept comfortably.
This size of the room was excellent and the decorations felt very Moroccan. The bed was comfortable and we were able to unpack and make ourselves comfortable. I loved the extra touch of having a robe and slippers to use after my shower. The shower, itself, was very refreshing with a rain shower above and a handheld sprayer. We enjoyed the free breakfast every morning and paid to have an authentic Moroccan meal on one evening. Both were excellent and the service was the best!! Nora, the office staff person, was excellent! She treated us with so much respect and strived to make our and stay the absolute best!! She even checked in with us via WhatsApp to make sure that were were okay and enjoying our time in the city. Thank you Nora!! The only reason that we graded the room down one level was that the we struggled with the air conditioning and getting the room cool in the late afternoon. By bedtime the room was cool enough to sleep comfortably.
