Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United KingdomThis Riad is unbelievable! I've travelled to many places in the world and this riad is by far the most beautiful I've stayed at. As soon as I arrived, I was mesmerized by it's beauty. They immediately served us with a welcome drink and snacks as we waited for the personal tour and drop off to our room. The architectural detail is exquisite. Several beautiful courtyards and just a very calming place. The rooftop patio has great views of the city and is so peaceful. The room was two stories with welcome treats. Their service was just fine and whoever says it's bad is just spoiled by other country standards. Moroccan's are known to have a slower pace of things especially in 40 degree weather or during Ramadan and that must be taken into consideration. I would return to Fes just to stay in this riad again!

SingaporeI recently stayed at Dar Bensouda when travelling solo through Morocco and thought it was wonderful. Very tastefully and traditionally renovated, it provided a secure and serene ambience to retreat to in-between explorations of the surrounding vivid and animated atmosphere of the old town and Medina. Abdul and the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, and arranged reliable and knowledgeable guides at reasonable prices when needed. My room was very comfortable and quiet, adjacent to a stunning courtyard, and not far from the fantastic rooftop relaxation area with 360 degree panoramic views of the city. The spacious ground floor courtyard was also a stunner in keeping with tradition and comfort, with couches, a welcome cooling pool and a location for generous breakfasts using local ingredients. Tasty Moroccan dishes custom-made to order for dinner could be provided if desired. All highly recommended, including the body massage and Hammam

United States of AmericaFor our room, the bathroom was located on the second floor. We knew that ahead of time but nothing better was available to us so we booked that room. It’s a hassle if you are someone who needs to go to the bathroom at night a lot. The owner is a little abrasive and made some odd comments. Be aware that this hotel offers a free tour, and while the tour guide Abdul is very good, he will bring you to someone who will coerce you into buying a carpet. He dropped us off at a carpet “co-op” and his salesman friend Mohammed will then attack you with the most aggressive, rapid fire sales you ever experienced. He separated us for the payment so we couldn’t discuss. It was very disorienting and by the end of it we felt as if we had been assaulted. The people in Fez will try to get every dirham they can from you, and though this hotel is pretty you need to be on guard.
The beautiful interior and antique furniture. Fatima the masseuse gave us an enjoyable traditional bath and massage.

CanadaThis is absolutely amazing Riad! I am intentionally saying Riad and not a hotel because once you will experience how it is like to stay at Riad, it will forever change your understanding of being comfortably accommodated . we really felt like being some ancient nobility, not only because of the facility itself, but also for the way we were treated! The Riad is beautifully restored ancient building. It is very spacious, divided into two main parts. First one is "resting area" equipped with plenty of seating places, great pool where you can enjoy your meal or just have a chat with the staff or other guests. Second area is "accomodation area", separated from the first one. It is spacious and well decorated courtyard , The room was just amazing, perfectly clean, very private, with comfortable bed. I can not find proper words to describe , you just need to look at the photos!!! I was just regretting that this was "friends stay" and not a couples stay, because this would be the way how to enjoy this room absolutely ;- Everything is in a walking distance from the hotel, in 10 minutes you can be anywhere. For expample in 5 minutes we have reached famous tanneries... Just ask the hotel manager, he will be happy to help you with anything and also to tell directions provide a tour guide and how to return back, this medina was really a maze! Hotel manager was really heplful. Thanks to abdul

We spent three fabulous nights at Riad Rcif &spa in the ambassador Suite. It was the nicest accommodation we had during our three week trip to Morocco, and we stayed in some other lovely and extraordinary places. Every single thing about this Riad is perfect, and I cannot recommend it more highly. Pre-arrival communications were quick and responsive. As we got closer, easy directions to a nearby parking lot were provided so we could leave our rental car during out visit. The Riad sent a porter to wheel our bags and show us the way from the parking lot. Easy peasy.

The Riad Rcif is a truly wonderful place to stay with the best atmosphere, wonderful accommodations, and the warmest people. We felt so welcome and comfortable, where hospitality shines and you feel so at home. We loved our room (actually we had two, having moved from a deluxe room to a suite for our third and final night), and enjoyed the delicious breakfast including omelets, cheeses, fruits, and breads in wide assortment and to satisfy all tastes. In particular I would like to mention Abdul, the manager, who was so kind and friendly to us on a personal level. This is a first class, 5-star Riad, not your typical average Riad but far more elegant and beautiful, with several magnificent courtyards and beautiful views. Treat yourself to a memorable stay in an amazing city, where the feeling is authentic and the surroundings magnificent.

NorwayOne of the evenings we treated ourself with Hammam in the Riad. This was a very nice experience, expect that I noticed afterwards that part of my skin had a huge bun mark. Maybe a matt or something could have been used on the hot stone to prevent this.. The staff was always welcoming and could provide us with a lot of information about the Riad and Fes. On the day of our departure they even offered to prepare breakfast and guide to the taxi, since we were leaving very early. However, the staff overslept and we had to leave without breakfast. No harm done expect two very hungry people on the bus ride to Marrakesh without any food. Nevertheless, our stay was really great.
We enjoyed our stay in this Riad very much. The mosaic and all the details are amazing, the place looks like it is from a fairytale! In the evenings we a good dinner in front of the pool, and in the mornings we could enjoy the breakfast on the rooftop with a view over Fes.

My daughter and I stayed at Riad Rcif for several nights, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. The riad is beautiful, and a truly relaxing place in the Medina. Above all, the service is top-notch, with great communication. Every question we asked was answered quickly and with a heart-felt smile, any help we needed was there. Before arriving we let the riad know that we had a car and clear directions for parking were provided, with staff ready at the lot when we drove in to help with luggage. During our stay we took the car out for an excursion, and had no problem doing so and parking it back in the lot when we returned. Thank you to everyone at Riad Rcif and espeacialy Abdul for such a welcoming stay.

We had a wonderful time at the Riad Rcif .The place is beautiful and thoughtfully remodeled. The staff is incredibly caring and helpful with everything especially Abdul was amazing host and best storyteller . The riad is in a great location with a short walk to the Bab Rcif while being on quiet street. Breakfast and drinks on the roof top are a great way to start and end your day. It is a perfect place for a family and we loved staying there.

CanadaI felt that my reservation could have been handled much better. My check-in had to be delayed (and my stay at the property shortened) because of a delayed flight that set my entire travel itinerary back by one full day. I provided more than three continuous days notice of the change to both the property and Booking.com, but the property failed to respond to all of my attempts to contact them by email, whatsapp, and booking.com messaging service. It took direct emails to Booking.com customer service to finally get a response back, and even then the response came within less than 24 hrs of my revised check-in date. The property’s inflexibility and unwillingness to compromise on the change/cancellation fee in spite of the late arrival being out my control cost me a significant portion of my travel budget. I booked all fourteen nights of my accommodations for this holiday with Booking.com, and this lack of understanding and customer care on part of the property and Booking.com will prompt me to reconsider before reserving accommodations for future holidays on Booking.com’s site and properties
Beautifully decorated. Very clean. Friendly staff that was readily available to provide advice and support with visiting the city.

United KingdomSpa was a bit basic - we had a massage and were basically round a corner of a cold corridor. Spa staff were lovely though. A bit cold and wet on the rooftop - maybe breakfast could be served downstairs?
Beautiful, ornate riad in the heart of the medina. Staff lovely and helpful. Room sumptuous - comfortable 4-poster bed, bathroom on a mezzanine floor. Beer & wine available. Roof top with great views of Fez.

United KingdomI read some of the reviews complaining about noise, and yes, because it is a riad the rooms are arranged around a central courtyard so there is going to be some noise but it’s not a real problem. Also, people complain about the pool, and I agree it’s more decorative than a pool you’d want to swim in, but again that’s to be expected in a riad. If you want a western style hotel, maybe go elsewhere. This is a special place, authentic and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
This riad is stunning. The design and architecture of the place is really breathtaking. It can be a little tricky to find (although once you notice the signs, you can’t go wrong), but this just adds to the charm. All the staff are great and the views from the roof are amazing. The breakfast is quality and I also ate here one evening which wasn’t cheap but it was a feast. No regrets. I really can’t speak too highly of this place. It’s incredible.

RomaniaMay I suggest the addtion of a mirror in the room too. It would be very useful especially for the ladies who make up. Also, while being there we realised that this Riad is on the expensive side compared to the neighbours. The pool is rather a decoration. I don't believe that anyone ever uses it since its in the center of the riad, next to the reception and surrounded by tables
The decorations in the room, the bathroom and the hallways were stunning. The view from the rooftop is nice and the breakfast is plentiful although full of carbohydrates.

Everything. This is by far one of the best places we have stayed in in our trip to Morocco. The hotel feels like a Palace, the room we stayed in was beyond beautiful and the Bed was incredibly comfy. The rooftop views were everything we needed to compliment the medina experience, and the sunrise breakfast was marvelous. All the food was exceptional, and Nor, Aiman and Hassan were really nice and caring. The best stay in Fes, 100% recommended.

United States of AmericaThe heater in my room wasn’t working , they kept telling me that it was working and they finally called maintenance to fix on my last night. I also didn’t like the owner of this property, he was very pushy because he tried to talk me into canceling my guide so that I would use his guide. I didn’t appreciate that at all. Dinner at this place is ridiculously expensive they charged me doubled the price. Go eat somewhere else.
The property is beautiful beds comfortable, shower water pressure great and breakfast was good.
