Lovely Riad. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location only 50m from the beach and a further 50m to the beach bars. Great restaurant (in particular the seafood, although my kids loved the tagjnes). Spotlessly clean. The pool was a good size and there were sheltered areas to keep out of the wind on the days it was high. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Nothing, everything was great!

The hotel is very nice, rooms are spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool on a day that was very windy at the beach. Xavier, his wife and the rest of the personnel are extremely kind and welcoming. Breakfast was great too!

The room could have had better ventilation.

The room was spacious, located on the top floor, you had to walk there through the roof area, which meant that the room was not facing the courtyard of the Riad and therefore everything was very quiet. A view of the sea opened from the window. Nice and pleasant pool and pool area, decent restaurant. Breakfast very good.

We’ve just had a lovely stay at Riad Zahra. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and we had dinner at their restaurant a couple of times which was also amazing. The location was perfect for us, especially with the surf school next door. We’d love to back again! Thank you for a great stay 😊

The breakfast was not wonderful. There could have been more variety.

The riad was conveniently close to the beach front, and not too far from the medina. The bed was very comfortable, the staff were very kind and friendly, especially the cleaner of my room. The shower was great with strong hot water.

I had an amazing stay in this Ryad. Javier, the owner was very helpful and attentive to my needs and the rest of the guests. You can tell he enjoys catering to all his guests, always with a smile, striking up conversations and making sure that nothing is left out. The perfect host. I felt very looked after. The food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious, the pool a plus on windy days. The location is outside the medina at the very end of the beach but only a 25 min. pleasant walk away. I will definitely be back. Mil gracias Javier! I was not able to try the apparently good breakfast because I left half an hour before breakfast time due to an early flight. They provided me with a piece of sponge cake and an apple, hopefully next time.

Upon arrival I would really have liked to have been offered a mint tea, or just water. I had left my home at 8.30 am and arrived at the Riad Zahra at 7 pm. All the travel went smoothly, no hitches, however a tiring day, nonetheless. A point of surprise was that no drinking water was offered in the room. Those the only negatives, everything else exceeded my expectations.

The evening meals in the hotel's own restaurant were marvellous. My room was on the ground floor which was perfect for me as I have had mobility difficulties during the last year, and cannot manage stairs with comfort. So everything I needed was easily accessible, my room, the restaurant for breakfast (plenty of), and evening meal, and to be able to sit outside by the pool if I wanted to.

Nothing! The only thing which could have improved the room was the consistency of water temperature in the shower, but I appreciate this is just one of those things. Perhaps some fruit options with breakfast?

It was a beautiful place - very clean and comfortable, the pool and surrounding area included. The cleanliness really couldn't be beaten. The facilities were standard but very thoughtfully designed. The restaurant/breakfast service was very assiduous, as were the 'front of house' reception etc. We were very fortunate to have what I would consider the best view - it was great to see the sea and sky from our window. I loved the natural surrounds of the pool (bougainvilla, hibiscus, birds of paradise; lots of bird life including the beautiful song of the bulbul ; the tortoises!).

We stayed off peak and did not notice any aircon in our room so not sure during summer how comfortable rooms would be. Beds are made up with blankets which we hate and would have preferred a light duvet with option for a blanket if cold. We stayed in a mini suite and was clean and spacious but furnishings are quite tired and more hangers etc would help. We were out most of the time so wasn't an issue.

This is a modest Riad located on a quiet side street just behind the main promenade along the beach (2 min walk to the beach) and around 20 min walk to the Medina. All staff without exception were warm and friendly. Xavier and his wife are around for helpful advice and good wishes for the day. The pool area was very relaxing and peaceful, pool was cold but early in the season. The Moroccan breakfast, while the same each day was all made fresh, tasty and plentiful. Other reviews have commented on the seafood and it is exceptional, fabulously fresh and perfectly cooked, it was the best we have had in such a long time. The lunchtime combo was perfect. Sorry we only booked 4 nights. We hope to come back to wonderful Essaouira and we would definitely stay in Riad Zahra.

Everything! Everything was amazing, from the staff to the cleanliness of the room. The owners are a couple from Andorra and they both speak many languages! Not just few words, they can have a proper conversation in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Arab.. I think this is such a plus! I was amused and impressed! The staff was also very welcoming and attentive to details. The food from the restaurant was also amazing. After 1week of Tajins, we finally had some great seafood. I highly recommend the seafood platter. Definitely one of the best place in Essaouira.

Especially we liked the location of the ryad, professionalism of the staff, both in reception and the restaurant. Exceptional interior design in the lobby and other spaces. Generally felt very cozy and comfortable. Enjoyed the sea view from or room window.

This is a lovely riad. We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very good as well. The location close to the beach was very nice. We walked to the medina many times from the hotel. It is a longish walk but lovely along the beach.
