눉The noise from the generator. For fishing trip is fantastic, but bear in mind that the BBQ is additional $25 per person - it is ok, I don't mind paying as the staff is very nice and they deserve it, but knowing the price in advance would have helped make informed decisions.
눇It is good value for money. The staff is very good, it feels as if you came over to your friends' house. They will take you around the place and you will be well looked after. Bikini beach is small, but beautiful. Now, the dilemma: resort or local island. We did both as we are regular visitors to Maldives. It is not the same as resort (no drinks, small beach stretch etc), but in my view Huraa is a goldmine and I think that few locals understand this. The potential of this place is severely underutilized. You would pay at least three times less and the water is the same, beach is similar to resort beach. It is only $2 for transport. Compare that with a resort transport cost of at least $200 per person with a speed boat and $350 for sea plane. Not the mention the cost of accommodation and food. At Huraa, you can eat for $4 or less. Hopefully in few years time, the place will shine to its fully glory, but it needs professionals to support the development. I am happy to invest in the project :). There is a beautiful beach stretch, resort is no better, but now it is clogged with rubbish - what a shame. If only this was cleared and some palm trees planted, you would get an amazing deal, much better than resort as you would have the local Maldivian life style coupled with pristine beaches and turquoise water. If the work is done professional, I am 100% positive that every house (not only guest house) on this island would be full 24/7. Maldivian resorts are seriously overpriced, for example, all inclusive deal on an island in Cuba (beautiful beach) is $130 for two people per day, whereas in Maldives, you would hardly get B&B in a 3 or 4 star resort and pay for a small bottle of water $5. This island, if developed and managed well, will be full of tourists and force the noncompetitive resorts to do some health check.

눉The water stank of sulphur. Corridor light shines through a window above the door onto the pillows. Noise from the TV room reverberates in the room. The staff were superficially helpful but didn't go out of their way. When their golf cart broke down they were not there to help get by luggage about a half mile to the ferry (I'm in my late 60s and the street is sand so luggage must be carried). They require payment in cash but don't mention the nearest bank or ATM is not on the island but is a 1 hour, once a day ferry ride away.
눇Located on a small island (no alcohol on the island) with free snorkel gear.
