Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainRoom wasn’t very clean and needed updating (which I think is being done as part of the refurbished this year). Maitre D in the steak restaurant was downright rude. Not a fan of plastic cups in the evening.
Fabulous location with loads of space. Lots of activities for all the family. The wildlife and quiet pool, coffee shop and lazy river.

United States of AmericaWe only got to go to one of the themed restaurants. They were booked up and a hassle. The one we had wasn’t much better than the buffet anyways.
The resort is huge and you can stay busy there without feeling like you need to leave. The staff was very good and no one bothered me trying to sell anything.

CanadaThe lights in our room during the day didn’t work for some reason not sure if this happens for everyone but even if we put the key in for the lights they only worked during the night, Resort was way to big very hard to find your way around got lost quite a bit. We never had a chance to eat at any restaurants because they were all booked up, lots of complaints about this from others at the resort as well. The location is far but not bad, $40 taxi into playa del Carmen one way. 30 minute taxi ride.
Nice variety of food at the buffets Resort was big enough that it has enough space for anyone to sit at any pool or beach areas lots of chairs, Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

CanadaThe one thing we were not happy about was the prevalence of the coati and some racoons. The coati travel in packs and are into the garbage. Despite the regular reminders from the resort to not feed the animals, some people are .. and that makes it worse. The resort is aware of the issue and are working on better garbage cans . As well, the staff are constantly tidying and cleaning. The coati are pretty bold and are not bothered by people which is a concern. More work needs to be done to solve this problem before it becomes a major health and safety issue.
The property was great. A very large property with lots of areas to walk and explore. Super for walking, interesting trails, beach access, many choices of areas to enjoy in the sun, choices of pools either for activities( noisy pool we called it) quiet pool, very fun looking kids pool, beach with nice sand and no seaweed. There was a nice big spa, a gym, on site pharmacy, oxxo store, gift shop all on the property. As well there is the best lazy river and 7 different a la carte restaurants. The staff was amazing and each building gets its own concierge - ours were Ruben and Stephanie and they were super helpful- booked us all our restaurants. Excursions can be booked as well as snorkelling/ scuba adventures. This was our second time - last time many years ago.All in all super great facilities.

United States of AmericaWe had a lovely 8-day stay at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. The impeccable service and pristine facilities contributed to our enjoyable experience. The variety of activities like beach volleyball, tennis, archery, and pickleball kept us entertained. We were delighted to encounter wildlife such as monkeys while exploring the expansive property, although it was slightly dimly lit at times. However, the reservation system for restaurants could be improved since it was difficult to book the times we wanted to eat at at the restaurants we preferred. Special thanks to Diana from booking.com for assisting us in securing a spot at the Mediterranean restaurant on our last day.

United States of AmericaThe kids could have more outdoor activities. The thematic restaurants are fancy, but I had better meals in the buffet. At least the Brazilian one is a bit far from what they target. I would recommend having more healthy options all day long near the beach, such as fruits, not only burgers and hot dogs.

United States of AmericaBooked the room originally directly through the website but PayPal wasn’t working on the hotel website and that was the only payment option available. I was hoping to pay at the hotel but the rate was higher than booked online. The person at the check in suggested to book it again via booking and pay with a card online instead. They didn’t want to cover the rate difference that I had to pay due to PayPal not working. Cheap alcohol at most of the bars and the food is just ok.
The location is great for snorkeling and other fun family activities, so you don’t need to leave the hotel. The room with the sea view was great.

United States of AmericaThere were a couple of things that detracted from our stay: (1) we had a leak in our room; reported it at 3:00 EST and no one came to asses/fix until the next day. I had to use all my towels and remove everything from my bathroom. (2) when we arrived we tried to make reservations for restaurants we wanted, we were told all were full. You cannot make them before arriving and we tried booking on day 1 for a 6 night stay. We were able to get two reservations late night at two less popular restaurants, but was presented as difficult. (3) minor item but big impact for us- there is no coffee maker in the room, and was difficult to find a cup before the buffet opened. There were some other things that I attribute more to the guests staying at the resort: (1) there were people walking through the lazy river(most were respectful, but some were not) and there were never enough flotations (I think people take them back to their rooms)- having someone monitor the lazy river would assist this. (2) the animals are everywhere (but did not bother my family at all) because people leave trash in receptacles (clearly marked to not do) and feed them. Maybe reinforce at check in the importance of not doing it and have more staff cleaning food around the property.
The location was beautiful. Lots of options for pool and beach seating. The staff overall was responsive and friendly. Plenty of options for food. Rooms were dated, but clean.
