Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

I booked a room with kitchenette but there was none. No elevator. Only 1 English speaking tv channel.
Edgar the receptionist was great. Speaks English well, gave great info on food stalls, supermarkets, directions and more. Also nice and humble guy. Because of him i'm giving a higher rating than i wanted to give at first. Thanks Edgar!

It would've been nice to know that the breakfast was not available on Sundays and the parking is "who comes first" The WiFi... That would be nice to fix, there are five for each floor and it's not very reliable

The room we had requires some tlc, the walls need some fresh paint. The bathroom is damp and has mould on the walls because there is no ventilation whatsoever. The room smelled like damp as well.
Good location, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, parking options on the street, close to the centre.

Constrution activiy going on in hotel,; the owner offered to place us in another room. We didn't move but appreciated his offer.
economy hotel that exceeded expectation. nice breakfast available on site that was convenient and tasty. The hotel owner's family were on and actively participated in running hotel. All the staff were wonderful. Conveniently located near center of city

Shower floor gets very wet from the shower curtain.
We stayed just for one night before we went to one of the all inclusive resorts. Comfortable bed. Cute cat who sleeps in his bed in the reception. Good price.

Cancun was our first destination, making Los Girasoles our initial accommodation in Mexico. We decided against staying in the hotel zone as it seemed unnecessarily overpriced to us.It was the right choice, Everything was clean and functionally furnished. The location is excellent as restaurants, ATMs, and bus stops are within walking distance. Definitely advisable if you're looking to stay in Downtown Cancun. They also offer breakfast of you want and a water refill :).

Location is a little off the beaten track but not too far so all good.
Lovely place to stay and great value for money. Friendly staff and relaxed, homely feel. Room was spacious and quiet, bed was very comfortable, shower excellent, lights and sockets by bed. Spotlessly clean throughout. Courtyard gardens to sit in were pretty and a bonus. Whole place just feels loved and cared for. Good breakfast at reasonable price. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer!

The area around looks a bit abandoned. Still, it was safe to walk till 10:30 pm.
The bed was really comfortable. It was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. We felt safe walking around the area. Close to Palapas Park with restaurants and shops. Walking distance to ADO. In general, a good stay.

The location is a little awkward, although its nice & quiet there aren't many restaurants or cafes in the area.
Nice clean room & very comfortable bed. The little cafe is open for breakfast & has a good variety of choices.

I will suggest to put at least one bottle of water per person in the room, also provide a small heater or a tea pot for having hot water at the room. I would also suggest add some kind of snacks for a price to be available at the dinning at nights. Apart from this, everything is great.
Pretty much everything. Great staff, kind and attentive, breakfast service offered at the place are a plus, with several choices for a nutritious and delicious morning meal. Beds are comfortable. Location is excellent, quiet, enclosed street but near several avenues, lots of places for dine out nearby.
