Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainI can’t think about anything less good than great.
The place is quiet, it has great views, good atmosphere the room was clean and spacious and the food is very tasty! The owners provide all the information you need. They drove us to kuala tahan every time we needed or wanted to. They arranged our excursions, they kept our luggage the last day… nothing more than THANK YOU. And hopefully see you soon

QatarThere wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Beautiful location by the river. Cosy home atmosphere. Food was very good quality and taste. Hosts very helpful, e.g. running us into village to get park permits in the morning and organising a great day trip to a remote location.

LithuaniaThe location is far away from the activities. There is nowhere to go on foot. Not very convenient if you don't have your own transport. Most probably owners would arrange transport for you. The air conditioner in the room was quite noisy and not very efficient.
Remote (actually in the middle of nowhere) location on a river bank. Beautiful blooming garden. Amazing view from the terrace to the river and the jungle. Very calm. The room is big enough. The bathroom is also spacious. Very clean. Each room has its own terrace. Breakfast is average, but quite varied and sufficient. The dinners were nothing special, but you could choose meat, fish, vegetables - several different dishes. All activities offered in the area can be booked.

United KingdomWonderful , peaceful place on the banks of the river with an amazing covered terrace for breakfast and dinner, and a beautiful garden. The owners could not be more helpful and did everything they could to make us welcome and enjoy our stay. Their day long jungle trekking activity was the highlight and was enjoyed by everyone in our small group and will provide us all with many special memories. One tip is that the guesthouse is a way from the village so if you need extra drinks or snacks, you would be advised to stock up before you go.. Having said that, the guesthouse provides you with a hearty breakfast and dinner so you shouldn't go hungry!

GermanyEverything was great, just remember: You pay in cash or via Wise! Since there is no ATM in town, you should bring cash in advance.
A lovingly furnished and quiet place right on the river, opposite the jungle. The transfer goes smoothly, the food (buffet) tastes good and a beautiful garden completes the atmosphere.

HungaryThe guesthouse itself is a nice building with a well-kept garden, next to a river. It's located outside of Kuala Tahan, but the hosts provide 4WD transport to any activities that you have. It's a much more peaceful place than the area around the park centre at Kuala Tahan. We stayed in the family room, which was a smaller building behind the main one. The room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. The owners of the Guesthouse are very very kind and extremely helpful. Take their advice about your daily activities because they really do know all the best places. We went on a full day jungle trip and it was legendary (also, we were very lucky with the weather). Breakfast was good and dinner was even better. The banana cake they have is almost addictive! We only spent a few days here but had the most amazing experience! I can truly recommend this place to everyone!

Comfortable accommodation set in a beautiful garden. The food was delicious with a buffet of several tasty dishes on offer every evening. Breakfast was also excellent. The owner was friendly gentle and informative and was prepared to drive us in and out of town whenever it suited us. The guesthouse is a peaceful oasis in the jungle by the river

United KingdomExcellent small guesthouse on the outskirts of the town. The hosts kindly shuttle you to and from Kuala Tahan to get into the national park and also arrange excursions through them which are private versus the large overcrowded tours from operators in the main town. Breakfast was good and dinner was exceptional. It was nice to stay slightly outside the town and even though I had reservations about doing so we certainly do so again and certainly stay here.

United KingdomThe Wifi didn’t work for a day but that was due to the way the infrastructure is on the island, over ground cables being vulnerable to bad weather. Nothing they can do. Besides, you don’t go to the rainforest to sit online!
The guest house has nice clean rooms with air con and private bathrooms, and beautiful gardens overlooking the river. Breakfast and dinner are provided and the food is delicious. The staff will also arrange tours and transport and drive you to where you want to be. It’s really great value for money, and a nice place to stay.

United KingdomWe enjoyed a 4 night stay at Balai Serama and loved every minute! The two hosts couldn’t do more for you and were very friendly and helpful! They appreciate that their place is not within walking distance to the town and so offer lifts to and from whenever is convenient for you. The 1 day trip to Kuala Sat is exclusive with this guesthouse and was our personal highlight of our stay in Taman Negara! Beautiful gardens and very nice rooms topped off this incredible stay. Highly recommended!

Location at the river Basic but clean rooms with airco Good food Excellent help from the owners for transport and tours Balai Serama is the only guesthouse who also offers a non touristic tour 45 km further down in the jungle which contains a hike with a guide- boattrip-visit to the village with the oriasti people and to top it off tubing in the river. It’s a really nice day trip. If you have limited time skip the canopy and take this day trip instead which is more authentic.
