Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. New ZealandNothing much except it would be nice to have clearer signage leaving property grounds to village. We missed our turn off returning back to resort and did an unnecessary uphill climb 😖😂
Boutique sized, private, good snorkelling, crystal clear waters, walking proximity to an original fishing village and lovely waterfall. Although there were only 6 guests including us when we were there because many has left, the food standard was very good. We loved that they served local malaysian cuisine plus the resort has good mobile reception today.

United KingdomContacting them by phone was impossible. They respond to booking.com messages but sometimes thats an hour later. Also the pier is very unsafe for kids, multiple broken wood panels which my son scratched his leg on quite badly, and the sides of the pier are all open so very easy for kids to fall off. You have to be very vigilant with kids. Some minor issues are getting in and out of the location by foot is also very difficult. The paths in and out are just mud tracks, with no signage. Food options were very limited for dinner. Breakfast was good though.
Location was amazing, Beautiful little cove, very clean, very quiet with lots of marine life just off the beach. Plenty of tours available direct from the hotel at very good value (compared to neighbouring hotels). Free snorkels were provided and flippers were only around £5 for the whole duration of the booking. Staff were helpful and friendly.

SwitzerlandIf the weather is good, the hotel has a shortage of sunbeds! It might be an idea, to have some sunbeds also directly at the villas. The rest is great!
The team is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has WiFi now at the restaurant! The location is beautiful, unfortunately the visibility at the reef was not good during our stay, but the glimpses we got were promising. The dinner is a set course, so you do not have too much choices. But it is well cooked and a sustainable option to reduce food waste. With children it might be, that they need a backup! ;-) Make sure you do not miss the afternoon tea! The staff is very helpful in the organization of the trip. They helped us to make individual transfers to and from the resort. Keep in mind, that the sea might be rough though...

MalaysiaThe food a bit international, and boring. To much premaid, juice, bread, fruit. Rather serve fresh made local stuff. Make fresh juice and use your wonderful local fruit instead of boring apples and oranges. The fish and hot dish very fine but a little more care about taste ( salt, spice) .Actually the cafe in Mukut served cheap and very nice food , juices. So the food was the only thing that I was disappointed about. It is not a cheap stay and I have had so much nice and simple and good tasting food during 10 visits to Malaysia in 4O years, unfortunately the food is going global, and that is a shame.
Location, villa, atmosphere, cozy outdoor restaurant and beach area. It is paradise on Earth, do not make it more luxurious, keep it relaxed and “simple” as a superb alternative to all the big resorts with international glamour. Arriving to Tioman with the tiny airplane from Subang KL and the speed boat transfer just gave a perfect start. Nice jungle walking to the waterfall and local fishing village with good local food. The staff top. Pro but relaxed and friendly, took the initiative to daily beach-volley and pool activities that connected the guests in a kind of friendly family atmosphere, we actually did say good morning and talked a little.

AustraliaWe enjoyed the food and was great breakfast and buffet dinner included but only other options for lunch were walk to fishing village, or 500m trail to resort close or pay for boat ride as resort isolated.
Location was stunning and rooms had wonderful views to the ocean. Lovely jungle and lots of wildlife. Birds, giant black squirrel, monkeys and shark feeding at night. Lovely to snorkel off a lovely protected beach.

United States of AmericaIf you like long walks on the beach, this is not the place for you. The cove is small. There is no road access so shopping for snacks or other items require taking a boat, but the staff can accommodate rides to "town". However, if you are needing down time and love the snorkel and swim or want to trek in the jungle, this is a great spot.
Rooms are very clean. Each room has a view of the cove. Wifi in the lobby/dining area was excellent. Fantastic staff! The beach offers easy access to the reef and snorkeling was possible for anyone of any skill level. If you enjoy nature, this is a great place to stay. There is abundant sea life (sea turtles, baby sharks, sting rays and lots of tropical fish species) and jungle inhabitants (monkeys, giant squirrels, lizards) etc.

United KingdomStaff were very friendly and efficient. Lovely spot with great snorkeling off of the pier and from the beach. Very peaceful and relaxing as not a huge resort so more of a personal experience. Walk to the town and waterfall is great as not as far away as other resorts. Good selection of food and fresh water readily available.

United States of AmericaFrom a walking/hiking perspective, besides Mukut and Asah, you can't really go anywhere else. But that's not really on the resort but more on the infrastructure of Tioman Island. However, the isolation of this area of the island makes it feel very private and relaxing to me as I prompts me to get away from the distractions of technology and work, and just focus on my holiday and doing things on my own time.
I wanted a mix of privacy and outdoor activities, and this place lived up to those expectations. You didn't have to go far for snorkeling as the cove had a plethora of corals and marine life to check out. I spotted blacktip sharks (they're harmless), sting rays, and se turtles while swimming around the cove. The hike to the small fishing town of Mukut and Asah Waterfalls were a little challenging with the heat and humidity, but it was worth it to see how the locals lived and take a dip in the Waterfall pool. The staff were very friendly and accommodating! Tony, Sophia, and Daniel were good hosts, and the rest of the staff were just awesome and made my stay comfortable and relaxing. The included breakfast and dinners were great, but the 4:30pm tea time and after dinner fish-feeding activities were something to experience.

AustraliaFantastic location and setting, large area of coral to snorkel off the beach. We saw turtles, harmless reef sharks, rays, and a wide range of fish and coral species. We were with our 1 year old, and the staff were very friendly to her. Thanks to the crew. The dinners in the evenings were really quite good, and breakfasts and lunches (lunches extra) were simpler but also fine. From the resort, we walked one day to Kampung Mukut, which is a nice little village about 45 minutes away. On the walk we saw a colugo! We also walked the other way through an abandoned resort (quite cool) to another nearby resort, which is not at all as nice as Minang Cove. Transfers to the resort were easy, even for us coming from Juara.

United KingdomI didn’t notice before booking that there is no wifi. On our arrival we were told by the owner of the hotel that there is no wifi and we were advised to go 2km to the nearest village to try there to get it somehow because we needed it for to book other hotel after our staying there. Luckily we had a local sim card and we where able to catch internet after 2 km. It’s a bit sad that after I asked him to use his hotspot I was told by him that his network is very slow😀 and he has only landline🤭 Common mate! 😀 a very convincing reason! Launch/ dinner it’s difficult to comment😀 Anyway your place is beautiful! 👍🏻 I definitely recommend it to others.
Location, cleanliness, nice views, beach, snorkelling. Reef just 20 m. from the shore. There are places to see during hiking/trekking. Facilities very good.

Australiaabsolutely nothing!
we absolutely loved this resort, the staff are so wonderful, the resort is so clean and location perfect as the coral reef is right there in front of the resort, stingrays, sea turtles and a huge array of colourful fish. the food too is exceptional and I love how they ring the bell for meal times. It was my 50th birthday during our stay and the staff blew me away with surprising me by decking out a cabana on the beach with balloons, decorations and beautiful food…one to remember.

Minang Cove Resort is simply a delight - super friendly staff led by Tony & Sophia - all we could have wished for in the middle of paradise! Food was all delicious and the bar staff and cocktails were to match. Alongside hiking, we managed to complete our PADI open water as a whole family with a great local instructor organised by Tony and have many magical memories of a brilliant family holiday - we will return!
