Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyEagle Tented Lodge is a great place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and the food is very good. Games drives are nice as well and the sister lodge with the Spa is a 10-min walk away.

United KingdomAlthough there was a fan in the room, this was not strong enough to help cool down the room, a bigger fan, or a second ordinary fan, is needed The view from the room was a bit obscured by a thorn tree- it would be good if the height of this was reduced. There was no warning on the website or Booking.com that the paths to the tents were rough and uneven. Whilst this was not a problem for us, if you were not sure on your feet it may have been a bit awkward to get to and from the lodge to the car park or your tents.
From the moment we parked the car, to the time we left, the staff were so helpful;, friendly with a smile on their face all the time. We were always asked how we were and if there was anything we needed. The catering & restaurant staff were very flexible when it came to breakfast times as our excursions left before the normal starting time for breakfast. Excursions to Etosha and around the Epacha Reserve (am and pm) were arranged, and our guide Eddie was an absolute star, importing so much knowledge with enthusiasm. Despite some of the tracks being very muddy, after torrential storms hit the area, we felt really safe with Eddie as our driver. Thank you for ensuring the outside of our car was clean before our departure.

GermanyUnfortunately the nights are quite windy and therefore the tents make a lot of noise and are quite loud. It is not sooo relaxing to sleep there - also because of the missing A/C - but nevertheless, a great place for two nights.
There is nothing greater than waking up and seeing Giraffes, Zebras and other animals from our front porch. An amazing experience and a great destination for Glamping.

AustraliaThe game drive wasn't great but I understand sometimes it's out of their control on what you see. Also, our tents were a far walk in the blazing heat.
The property was very beautiful and clean, as were the individual tents. The staff were lovely and the food was good (especially the omlette!)

FranceSlightly far from Etosha so we had to plan our visit to the park considering the extra driving time.
Amazing welcome from this wonderful team. Everyone was so professional and the tents are just a dream come true. Incredible bathroom and beautiful sunrise from our private terrace! Wish we had stayed longer! Also food was really good and the atmosphere so friendly. Highly recommend for someone wanting to decompress after a long day driving around!

United KingdomNothing!
The accommodation and lodge are amazing. The tents are extremely well equipped and the location perfect for safaris inside Etosha. However it is the staff are what made this accommodation, McBrain and Lydia in particular provided amazing service to myself and my friend. They were extremely welcoming, great to talk to and really made our stay. The chef also went out of their way to provide myself with vegetarian food which was delicious every night. They really made us feel at home and would highly recommend staying here!

United KingdomA relaxing stay towards the end of our trip to Namibia. Mcbrain was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. All staff were very friendly. The tents have an amazing view (make sure you zip all vents at night or it can become noisy in the wind). The food was fantastic. We took the trip to Etosha and the Himba village. The guides were very knowledgeable. It was also great accessing the facilities at the next door Epacha lodge.

FranceA bit far from Etosha. The rooms are too dark, it's not your fault but I encountered way too many insects (spiders, centipedes..). On the other hand, 10/10 for the night at the Epacha, just next door (same owner, same staff) which is magnificent!
I've never met such friendly and attentive staff. Again, thank you very much for your help and kindness. Also, the food is very good.

CanadaIt would have been nice to have some snack options offered throughout the day. Food options are limited at and around Etosha and when we returned from game drives we would be hungry, but dinner wouldn’t be for a while. A braii area would be nice as well to cook your own lunch if needed. Other small things is portable air conditioning units in the room and perhaps strong wifi Maybe some soft music at dinner as well Last thing, the game drive was extremely expensive. It would be nice to offer some kind of discount if you’re staying at the lodge. Just an idea to elevate the experience.
We loved the breakfast and dinner. The meals exceeded our expectations and the service was outstanding. The welcome drink and cold towel made it feel 5 star. It was so nice to have a member of the staff ask us how we were and if we wanted a drink each time we entered the main building. The turn down service each evening was so nice.

South AfricaThere are no wifi in the tents, but it is not really a negative for me. The tents are far apart, which I prefer, but people might find it a distance to walk to the lodge if they are booked at the further tents. The walkways are good
We ran away from the rush and needed some rest. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the quietness of the resort. It is really beautiful and I am glad that we stayed the full day without driving out to the park. The Lodge looks like a castle built with African stone. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly, The food is outstanding. The tented cabins are luxurious while bringing you closer to nature.

CanadaI was never informed about clay pigeon shooting!! Would be nice if they would offer more activities at the loge, like quating etc. It's about 80 min to the park entrance and the gravel road was not in good shape,so make sure you bring your SUV. Would be nice if there are also all the drinks included, would make it easier for both. I ask for fixing the drain for the outside shower...was never fixed. A better light in our room would be much appreciated.
Really like the cabin. The food was great. The stuff super friendly. The view was nice with Kudu and giraffe came right to the waterhole.

IrelandI’m not a frequent camper so I was somewhat irked by all the noise at night from various parts of the tent flapping but shouldn’t be an issue for those that camp often. Our lodge was quite far away from the main base so the walk back to the tent in the evening was a little unsettling, especially when most of the path lights weren’t working. The darkness of the area around our camp did have advantages.
Beautiful lodge with wonderful views over the park. We could see giraffes roaming from our balcony which was a nice touch. The restaurant and bar are stunning with an almost medieval appearance. Due to the lack of light pollution around our tent, we had an incredible view of the stars at night.
