Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWell, remove the smoking area away from the main entrance of the hotel. It is disgusting to enter and leave the hotel in an fog of smoke. I had to hold my breath to enter and leave. Sorry this really provides me a bad impression, disgusting. On top, please change the wine options. The two whites I tried were not nice wines. Also consider the time of the year to rotate your portfolio. Maybe if it would have been 35 degrees outside, these wines would have gotten a different review. Now in winter it would be nicer to have for instance a more full or fatty white.
Decent room and bathroom, balanced on the budget for the area. The beds are lowkey, not too fan of it, but it was not really good or bad.

PortugalFitness area was quite simple but it doesn't affect my overall evaluation of the place. Just keep it in mind if planning some workouts during your stay 😉
The room was quite comfortable and everything (from towels to bathroom consumables) was provided. The bar/entry hall was simple but very welcoming and cosy. The check-in was quite amazing since I arrived way earlier than expected and an empty room was provided instantly without needing to wait for the check-in time. The building was warm which make it a good place to stay if traveling with cold weather. Easy access to the train station that can virtually take you anywhere. The staff was great and very welcoming!😄

BelgiumRestaurant food was good but rather overpriced. Wine (Merlot) served by the glass was off and too cold. Not many food alternatives in the neighbourhood except a MacDonalds.

United Arab EmiratesA kettle in the room will be appreciated, and a better parking entry gate bell positioning. Room service or house keeping could be slow and has a room to improve. Not much of convenience store around, nearest ones probably 15 minutes walking distance.
Room size is decent as we got upgraded to deluxe room. Room is equipped with Nespresso coffee machine, perfect for coffee lover. However kettle was not there, probably need to request if required. Plenty of car park for hotel guest, but the gate bell position is awkward, most of the time we need to get out of our car to press the gate bell.

EstoniaMain stuff, in the day time, was kind and responsive. Parking area around the hotel is free of charge. Location is good - 15 mins from The Hague. Rooms and bass are clean and cleaned properly every day.
Our room was clean and quiet, but another family members room unfortunately not. AC was too noisy, Most probably broken and it was hard to sleep because of the noise. As we arrived in the night, it took a time until someone let us in. Receptionist told there is a free space on the hotel parking, but it wasn’t, so we just waist our by driving back and forward to the parking and finished on the street parking space. There was no bottled water in the room, breakfast is pretty expensive (about 18.- Eur/person) and only 3 power outlets in the room, one of them in the bathroom. The coffee maker in the room is so small and plastic that it’s an art to get a coffee from there :)

FranceWhen the climatisation is doing warm air it's smell cold smoke, but not too much. It's just something to be taken into consideration.
The honesty of the hotel, they propose what they have. Quality price is OK, the room is small, but it's OK, the beds are really comfortable. We had some noise at the end of the day, but not too much. We had a fridge and hairdryer. Good point too, that you can charge your car here in the free parking of the hotel, take into consideration that the charge is 0,619 cts/ kWh.

DenmarkI saw a cockroach in the stair well. Several cars parked illegally and blocked the exit inside the fenced parking, and the staff was unable to help me get my car out despite the sign that says that cars parked illegally will be towed. I would expect that the hotel have a procedure in place to have these cars removed to allow others to get out. It was disappointing that they have no gluten free options. I'm celiac and cannot eat any gluten at all. This is not uncommon so really it should be catered to. When you have a limited dinner menu, it's also important that you have all the options available. We were disappointed to not be able to order our choices.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Staff were helpful and polite. Dinner was very tasty.

South AfricaThe two single beds in my room were both rather narrow, making it imperative to sleep without turning over during the night. Not so comfortable. Bathrooms were also really cramped, especially the toilet.
The breakfast was great, and having staff members take orders for eggs added a nice personal touch.

United KingdomAlthough the basics were good, and the staff helpful (and attentive to guests' needs & concerns) there were less than ideal features of my visit. Some are "low hanging fruit" - tiny improvements which would add extensive value. Others are logistical matters. Sadly one more serious problem also arose. 1. One workman, on contract with the hotel, displayed aggressive, and deliberately intimidating behaviour. When challenged on a small matter, he immediately was spoiling for a fight, attempting to stare down a guest, and making belligerent comments. Although this was dealt with, I was surprised to see the same person hanging around the place again. I would have expected him to be sent home, frankly. Notably, a senior member of staff nonetheless explained that the third party company involved would be put on notice that this kind of thing could not be tolerated. So the incident has certainly been addressed in some significant way. 2. During one evening, the downstairs area was filled with gentlemen behaving in a very loud and boisterous manner. Guests therefore need to expect the downstairs area to sometimes be like a workmen's pub of some sort. I can cope with this no problem, but it narrows the appeal for families or business guests in my opinion. 3. There seemed to be supply problems, or perhaps staff training issues, or both It seemed to be a major project to get soap into the common area men's WC. I was confused as to why little hotel soap bars were not placed there as in the rooms, as an interim measure, too. This is hardly a dealbreaker but it seems a little silly. 4. Nowhere in the room were there a single drawer, or hook upon which to hang a coat or towel. That is really a bit ridiculous in my view. There was some wardrobe space so items could go in there for sure, however, a few cubbies or drawers to put socks in might have been nice?
My stay was enjoyable, despite several misgivings for a number of reasons. The staff are friendly, sociable, and are doing their best. The downstairs area is very pleasantly decorated, spacious, and has an outdoor area. There is parking which seems fairly secure, and that's always a plus. My room was spacious, the window could open a long way, (I hate when the don't) there was even quite a nice view - of a highway - but still with nice trees and a cycleway, so surprisingly OK to look out onto! :) I thought the bathroom was fundamentally great, and I could enjoy cool showers to deal with the hot weather, along with the air conditioning also doing its job pretty well, so I could remain comfortable. I slept well, so those are the basics, and there is something to be said for that, without any doubt. For this reason I've given a pretty good overall score. There were problems - see below, however I was satisfied that the staff were trying to resolve these and made considerable efforts also to discuss the problems and hear me out, so again, the score is good. In addition, despite there being some problems, because these do not concern the very basics, and because I feel I could communicate with the staff, and they genuinely did not hold it against me for saying something, I see this as a place I would/will definitely return to.

Czech RepublicThe edges of the bed were too soft making you fall down.. the room was not very clean, esp. the floor, and table and our nightstands. Very dusty, maybe the whole room is dusty and hard to keep clean but it did not seem like someone tried. We spent 4 nights and everyday there was a room service of different style.. which was a bit strange.
Nice room, fridge, coffee machine, enough room in the bathroom for your stuff and also hooks for towels

Netherlands- The airconditioning did not work in our room while it was 30 degrees celsius. We reported it during check-in at 14:00 and it was not fixed by evening, they told us to sleep without a blanket. - There were some silverfish in the sink of our bathroom.
- Nice staff, nice room. - It is really close to the broodfabriek where we had an event. -There is enough room to park the car.

NetherlandsThe view from the hotel room was a highway and the lighting in the bathroom was rather dim. The gym was very small and basic with only a few cardio devices.
I really liked the bed and the desk that had 2 tables. The bathroom also had two sinks set in a nice and wide counter. The curtains fully blacked out the sun.
