To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Czech RepublicThe floor in the room dissipates heat very well, so walking barefoot or in socks is not very comfortable. And not many people pack slippers on a business trip. Room equipment is very spartan - capsule coffee machine, but only sugar and powdered milk available Cyclists cross the street smoothly, pedestrians are ignored by cars. But this is not the hotel fault 😊
Breakfast excellent, location convenient for transport by car or bike, on foot it is strange. The pedestrians are almost extinct species here. The hotel staff is very helpful. Room was very clean and quiet.

NetherlandsNot everyone is a coffee person, some prefer tea :). The room did not have an electric kettle, really really needed that which is present in almost all hotels. It had a coffee machine which we did not use. The shower area does not have any placeholder which is weird. No place to keep your soap, shampoo or whatever you want to use.
There was water dripping from the vent when we checked in. The reception staff were very helpful and changed our room immediately. Quite a good location, very helpful staff, a good experience.

AustraliaThe desk reception person who checked us in was rude. When I walked in, I saw him talking to another guest, but he looked at me as I walked to the desk, and took that as an acknowledgment. So I said, i have booked 5 rooms for the night. His response was - ‘I’m still processing another guest, do you not see him, he’s right in-front of you. You have to line up behind him’. In my mind, he could have just said, I’ll be with you in a moment, or any other way more cordial.
Cost is reasonable. Most, but 1 staff showed exceptional service.

We got confirmation of our booking which included all our card details for payment then got another email stating the booking is not confirmed until payment is made and if payment wasn't made they could cancel the booking, despite having our card details.
