Great that they had a tub on each table at breakfast for peelings, teabags, butter wrappers etc but didn’t like that each had a plastic bag which was thrown out adding to the huge amount of plastic going to landfill. Better to use strong paper bag

The staircase of the hotel is very narrow and steep and the lift is small.

We stayed in an apartment with a kettle and senseo coffee machine - the hotel rooms were apparently provided with tea and coffee whilst the apartments are not.

Breakfast was good; hotel is close to public car park and centre of town so very convenient, apartment 2 was perfect for myself and my 2 friends for our one night stay.

No kettle to make a cup of tea in the room. Noisy at night with people chatting and laughing right outside our window; however they did respond to request to tone it down.

The inside was newly and beautifully decorated, but the outside area, which also had nice furniture, wasn't cared for, with weeds through the paving slabs and weeds where the flower beds should be.

The location, in the pedestrian centre of town, next to the river, close to restaurants and shops. The reserved parking was in a secure garage about 200m away. See photo. The appartment was large with a well equipped kitchen.

Our bathroom was extremely small. You could not open the drawer under the sink without basically falling backwards into the shower. Drying off in the bathroom was a challenge as was using the toilet. You had to leave the door open for both to keep from hitting your head or bumping into things.

The staff was exceptionally friendly. Our fan was extremely loud, and we got a new one within the day. Thanks for everything ladies. The breakfast is good, but it can get a little hectic when tables aren't cleared right away. The location is great, and parking was no problem.

Room was a little 'compact' and we didn't appreciate the elephants staying in the room above. Not the hotel's issue, just inconsiderate guests.

Perfect location on the river, next to the bars and restaurants but somehow not affected by noise from them. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was perfect. Bike storage was convenient and secure and private parking much appreciated.

On appartement 2, above the bed there was a light entrance on the roof that had no blackout curtain. So, after 5am (June) it was impossible to sleep due to the amount of light entering the space just above our heads. It's a pity because everything else was really good.

Hotel Botterweck has extremely friendly staff, who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We had a one of the balcony rooms, looking out over the square. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the location was ideal - within easy walking distance to the Castle, Velvet Cave and restaurants, with bike hire and the station also handy for exploring a little further afield. Good breakfast!
