Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot enough closet space in room and only open drawers (no closing drawers to hide underwear), no freebies like chocolate or toiletries, water only provided on first night but maybe this is picky and better for environment. Didn’t like food in bar but bar area was gorgeous and drinks were very nice although very expensive. Breakfast expensive but very convenient as cafes that did do breakfast and lunch were ALWAYS full and only had a few seats so glad we opted for breakfast in end but they could reduce price a bit. Need more staff on reception and don’t like self check in as it wasn’t successful in creating room card so no point as had to go to reception anyway where there was a lengthy wait as computers/AI taking over staff unfortunately. Red light street is at end of street of hotel but hotel is at quieter end near university of Amsterdam. You can avoid the extremely crowded red light district by turning left when exiting hotel or turning right when exiting hotel then left. Just know that bikers (mainly tourists) can be a major put off to revisiting for me, as many do not stop for you and cycle very fast and aggressively and also on pedestrian pavements and seem to turn into psychopaths when on them. Walking (if not cycling) is the main and quickest way to get around but also very tiring if older or have any mobility issues not to mention watching out for bikes non stop.
Very good breakfast and choices of hot and cold food; comfy bed and very clean room and bathroom; very helpful staff whom carry your bags to taxi (special acknowledgment to Italian Hotel Agent Cristiano who carried our bags to taxi and made an effort to converse with us esp about art exhibitions and helpful local info which was nice of him) and whom are always willing to call you taxi, recommend sights and cafes and also show you areas and landmarks on paper map.

IrelandThe location is great, very central, and close to shops, restaurants, public transport etc. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. Check in and out was seamless and the free umbrellas were a great idea! The room was business class and was an upgrade. It was roomy and had an iron and safe etc but there were a few carpet stains. Overall tho it was very comfortable. It was also available when we arrived after an early morning flight, which was great.

United KingdomMy room was not a 4-star room, for the money we paid it was not worth the stay. Maybe a room upgrade would be of better quality. I've stayed in Better Premier inns. The reception was very lovely and definitely hitting 4-star expectations. Unfortunately, standard rooms are below value for money. My sink was blocked, and I did complain, but nothing was done. To empty the sink, you had to go under to pull the plug. I was expecting the same standards as our local raddison hotel. The standard room is not worth 180 a night. The location is great in the day, but at night time, I felt a little unsafe.
The staff was lovely and very welcoming, nearly all staff was very helpful. The reception area was beautiful. Location good in the day. Rooms quiet considering the window is facing reception area

United StatesThe room they gave me has the bathroom paper holder broken, told the front desk right away; but no one came to fix, until the last night stay—I called front desk again. Then property manager came. I stayed for 3 nights though. And the body soap dispenser was broken too, it doesn’t pump, I had to shower in the fitness center. I use the sauna every night, so it’s ok; but can’t shower in the morning. I told the front desk, I called two times, even left a note to front desk—-the girl was busy checking in other guest, so I left a sticky note on her desk. After my second call on the second night, the staff came telling me no more dispenser, gave a few hotel sized body wash. And my used coffee mug wasn’t refreshed…. The bathroom tub wasn’t cleaned every night either, hairs still in the tub. The weekday night shift manager helped me to get all fixed. But I am leaving..he was very professional, and kind, very tall! He brought in the soap dispenser right away and new mugs! Hotel overall is ok, however for the price I pay, I don’t know what to say. I paid almost 400 per night… a bit disappointed.
Fitness center with sauna is good, however I saw flying bugs in the shower room there… too damp, I guess.
